yup the engine bay has been degreased... its still that flat darker blue color so its nothing amazing but its at least worth of receiving a fresh new motor.

Ill update since bryan wasnt in the garage today:
The car is even more stripped. The rear suspension, gas tank, differential, rear subframe, swaybar, and charcol canister were all left in before today because we didnt think that the gas tank/evap/rear diff electrical harness needed to be swapped. Well it did. Today/Tonight I removed the rear subframe and differential because it sat below the gas tank. I then removed the gas tank (pain in the arse) along with all of its wiring and replaced it with the new STi hotness wiring. Also installed a brand new Walbro 255lph fuel pump with OEM (better quality) fuel pickup filter. The tank is back in and assembled, the rear differential subframe needs to go back in. Now begins the process of putting all of the STi counterparts back in...oh the fun times! thats it for now...shower time. |
jump on that horsey and get it done....i'm tired of waiting pete, i want to see it
|
These things take time. Pretty sure this is the first 03 to 07 swap being done in the world that I know of...dont quote me. I know these cars from top to bottom but when you are merging two together unseen issues arise. But have no fear, TST's best mechanics are working on it.

No can do, just started tech school so i can learn all the stuff I am doing to trolls car
|
Is it an 07 motor and trans? If it is you are one lucky sob.
|
No Matt. Its 07 STi everything. Engine, trans, ecu, ALL WIRING, cluster, A/C, seatbelts, rad fans, steering rack, crossmember...etc etc. If you can take it off, we did. Shats gonna be sick..
|
I hate you! I'm just playin, it will be tits.
|
|
BAHAHAHAHAH!! I should be a hand model for real.
Its not too funny though, thats where bryan keeps me kept when I am not actively working on the car |
|
haha great photos... i dig it.
pete and fred rock... they're the best. i'm getting through my work week and not able to be there during the day but they're taking care of business. i plan to be there tomorrow night after work and possibly just stay over so i can get an early start on thursday and bang a lot of stuff out then. and a double thanks to fred for coming and picking my ass up in princeton tonight after the audi died on me . only owned the car for 1000 miles and its starting to act up. and thanks and i'm sorry to barry for getting a lot more than he bargained for when we took that 2 hour roundtrip tonight that actually took like 8 hours. ok i'm gonna go get to sleep... |

Project looks insane guys. Can't wait to see more. Ryan |
Coming along awesomely.... if this thing works, you guys should go into business for yourselves and open a shop! Not everyone has the skill and cahones to undertake this. Any chance that Subiesport or another rag will do a piece on this, since I agree, not sure this swap has been done yet. I searched around last night and couldn't find anyone else swaping a bugeye for 07 guts.
|
Hey what did you guys to for keeping things organized like all the clips and screws for the interior? I took my seats and half the dash out and had a few "bonus" screws when I was done. lol
|
Bryan, got your message last night. Ill call you tonight.
Oh, and are you doing all the yaw sensors as well??? |
we try to put the nuts and bolts back into their original place so when its time to reassemble its already there, or when thats not possible everything goes into a labelled bag... hopefully by keeping things very organized we will get it back together 100%.
yes we will be installing all of the sensors necessary for the dccd to work fully. i admit i'm not sure what they all are since they have been changing them some from year to year but i trust that they were all included with the wiring we got and we'll figure out the puzzle of wires and sensors as we go. when things come into question we'll look it up. |
I stopped over last night to bust some balls and see how things were goin. That thing was stripped! So I did the only thing possible, I stole his steering rack, muahhahahaha.
Thanks Troll, I'll have it back to you soon, although I didn't know you were puttin in a new rack too oh well. This helps my project tremendously if I can figure out this rack. |
STi rack FTW then?
