ok ok... probably not that interesting...

to make a short story long...

we've got two development divisions here, one takes care of the back end(server side scripting) and one takes care of the front end development (what i do)

a partner was having an issue with a redirect variable that they can set in our category services (browser based stuff they can access). what was happening was a redirect on a general category that houses products was cascading down through to the products... so when you clicked on a product you would be redirected to the parent category's redirect.

this shouldn't happen... at all.

i said this was a back end issue and that they needed to look into it. They spent all of 5 minutes to turn around and say it was our issue to resolve. I double checked everything... and gave a possible work around but still blamed the other team for the problem and that them fixing it would be correct... neither of us knew what the exact issue was though... its been around for years... maybe even a decade. but the business team wanted it fixed correctly... so we looked into it further

The punch line... it took a number of hours of looking around trying to find the issue... and it suddenly dawned on me. The fix... worked like a charm... had another conference call about the issue and laid it out and pushed the fix back over to the other team and sent them a copy of the line i changed...

it was awesome...
