Does taking the baseplate off affect performance or stability of the mag at all?

And do you have a pic of the 8 round mag?

~Brian~ 02-02-2012 01:46 AM

So I decided to revisit the original pages of this thread and it is quite interesting... and kinda scary.. like this quote for example

The early thread is def lacking the knowledge that is currently posted in here now

So what all is involved with getting that NFA stamp? Is it only some fee and an additional background check?

I want a M249 SAW.. lol

200 dollar tax stamp per a unit and its good forever unless selling or transfering to another person. as for a transferable m249 saw, well I have heard theres only about 20 or so on the books if that. price tag on them are 100-125k, on the lower end of that with the current market. last transfer class 3 wise took 7 months for me and from what I hear its going to be awhile before they are back to 3-4 month wait times.

Negative, doesn't mess with it at all..

If it was only a 3 to 4 month wait time id have a can on my ar, however I'm hearing like 9 month wait times

They are out there, but like you said you will be paying 2-3k for it. There's more all black ones in the country then two tone, so they do go on the higher side.

SvicksTc 02-02-2012 10:43 PM

I'm down let's do it lol...draco cough

Nope no adverse side effects. Basically it's just there to act as a buffer for when you drop the mag out of the gun and let it hit the ground.

Sorry no pics of the 8rnd because I don't have anymore left. Sent them all with the Para when I sold it.

SvicksTc 02-03-2012 01:31 PM

So I just recieved my first Spyderco Knife, and I am super impressed with the fit and finish and was worth every penny...

As i posted earlier, its a pretty rare Moonglow Manix 2 which was run specifically for a forum called E.D.C or every every day carry...Only 800 were produced and have been discontinued for a little while now...A lot of people didnt even know about the second run they had and many people are selling this for a pretty penny, while others more reasonable...

Although after handling the knife it is going to be pretty rough not to want to carry such a nice knife, however, I am probably going to let it sit NIB for awhile and take it out and admire it here and there, LOL.

Ah, okay no worries.

Steve, I'm not sure if I'm coming home this weekend. I have two exams on Friday and I need this weekend to start studying for them. I am off next Friday though, so I will drive home right after class so I can have a two night weekend in Bethlehem.

If if anything changes though, I will let you know.

*Edit- I forgot that my sister's birthday is on Tuesday, but because she is so busy, the family is having a birthday dinner for her on Sunday. I'll be driving into Bethlehem tonight, so do you want to to head to the range near Coopersburg tomorrow at some point?

Brain, just let me know I have a little going on tomorrow, but could squeeze in some range time, how long you want to go out for?

Bring some targets, we can use the my new shooting stand, works great, I can move it any distance I want and dont have to be forced at the static distance range backboards...

Might be a little busy tomorrow, being that it is going to be a decent weekend again, I normally go during the week and there is not another person there haha

DC2.2GSR 02-03-2012 11:20 PM

Where is this range, and is it Draco friendly? I've been trying to get out shooting and tomorrow is the first full day off I've had in a while.

~Brian~ 02-04-2012 11:06 AM

Text sent, I can go at any time today

Shot sporting clays today and went 16 of 50. Literally a 100% improvement from last time. I'm finally getting used to lining up, swinging the gun, and aiming/pointing.

This could get addicting...

Nice, ya she really liked the kimber, she said that was her favorite of the day..

I can't wait til they're done finishing the new ranges at the club idk if you took notice where they were building them...and that's why the drive was so messed up lol..

You shot good today, just work on that grip and get some snap caps and work on draws and dry fire drills up at school in your free time..

Shooting steel is fun isn't it :)

If its not that far of a trip you're more than welcome to come anytime..when the weather gets warmer ill let you go to town on my ar...do some dynamic shooting drills and transition from AR to secodary weapon (side arm) moving forward...I don't know what's more fun than that lol

Nice, well it is easy to modify one for left handed shooters too. Can get an ambi safety and mag release.

Def, now if I could find the time haha

And yeah.. shooting steel is awesome! I wish I had that at my range out at school!
