I have.

But then I realized just how dumb it was, so it won't be happening again.

Munky 11-18-2010 12:46 AM

I have in the past. But I haven't drank in about 2 years so can't say that I have recently.

Always. I carry everywhere I'm legally allowed to. As for drinking while carrying (which is entirely different than just taking it along to the bar), I treat it like driving a car. If my BAC would prohibit me from legally driving a car, then I'm too drunk to carry. I'll have a couple beers while carrying, but I have strict personal limits that I've set for myself. I almost always end up driving anyway so it's never an issue. Sometimes I'll decide to actually drink while I'm out and I'll just take the gun off and store it in a safe place. A few times I've ended up handing off the gun to a sober friend (with LTCF obviously) who carried it for me the rest of the night so the gun was there, but not under my control. Other times I go out with the intention of drinking a lot and I'll just leave the gun altogether. That's rare though, and it pretty much only happens when tailgating at a Phils or Eagles game. Those get pretty rowdy haha

Just screwing around with the camera taking pics of my EDCG.

Yes. But I don't get ****-faced drunk anymore (well maybe occasionally, but that's usually in the safety of my own home ). If I was planning on getting ****-faced I probably wouldn't carry, but personally I see absolutely no problem with having a few drinks while carrying.

AutobahnRacer 11-18-2010 01:12 PM

I wanted everyones quick input for a gun that will be primarily carried, blued or stainless? If blued is just a matter of extra maintenance, what is involved?

rodder 11-18-2010 01:26 PM

depends on the blueing. The tennifer finish on glocks and the melonite on the XDs is very durable. The M&Ps have stainless slides that are finished in a black-oxide coating, which is weird because I've noticed small surface rust on the M&P after carrying IWB in the summer (sweat is not friendly to steel) and leaving it in the holster for days at a time but never on my XD.

If you carry a blued gun you should wipe it down with an oiled rag every once in a while. The more often you carry it the more often you should wipe it down.

AutobahnRacer 11-18-2010 01:30 PM

Is that all there is to it? Would you say blued is a good choice? I dont mind wiping it down with oil every once in a while if thats it. Basically what would be your recommendation.

I have chose the Ruger P95 btw and which I am specifically referring to.

Sorry for the questions but I am new to this.

I've been trying to find a serrated one to replace this one but no1 locally has them. I'll probably just look around online for one.

My brother gets dealer prices on Kershaw and just about any brand of anything, but they limit his quantities that he can buy each year. If he's still under his number on Kershaw then I'll be able to get it cheap. On their site they show a ton of different models of the Leek with different blade steel and colors. Let me know exactly which model you're looking for and I'll find you a price.

dont be ridiculous, ill bring at LEAST 150 rounds of 308 and if you interested in the dragunov 1000-2000 rounds (crates were cheap at VFGC haha) I dont need any money. believe it or not i DID like shooting your carry gun last time, it was the first M&P i'd ever shot and I liked it a lot.

Ill bring a deck of cards for the pistol range and we can try some of the new games ive been working on (assuming they are as cool as CPI), its lots of fun! If theres anywhere out near you with some distance id be willing to make the trip out that way, i dont really like the idea of having to "qualify" to shoot at a range (wicens) but i also hate the SGLs 3 round limit... catch 22 i suppose.

Let me know what you'd be up for and ill be there... id really like to find somewhere with 200-600 yards, wicens is only 100.

haha alright. Well I really appreciate it. and yes, I'm very interested in the dragunov! I've been trying to find a decent range around here but all I can find that's more than 100 yards is that one where they had the zombie shoot and that's even an hour for me in the other direction.. probably 2+ for you. I know there's one like 15 minutes from my house that's 300 yards but I can't find it. I've asked everyone and searched a ton online but I can't find any mention of it anywhere. I drove past it once and I can't remember where it was. I'll see what I can find but if there's nothing then that wicens one is cool with me as long as you guys are up for it.

I'm all about some games though. It gets boring just shooting at bullseyes. lol. Any chance you'll be bringing the P238? I've never even held one. I might end up scrapping the crappy LCP thing and just go with something good like the P238 if it feels right.

Munky 11-18-2010 11:55 PM

Are you talking about the Oley gun club? Cause that would be real close to you and they have pistol, shotgun, trap, and rifle ranges. I know the one rifle range is at least 200yds and might be even further never really asked cause I usually only shoot pistol or 100yds at most with my AR. There's also the Daniel Boone rod and gun. I think they changed the name tho. That's more out in Exeter.

I have the same issues as DC2 right now... can this offer be extended to me as well, whenever I end up getting down there?

I only have a Springfield XDM .40, but you can shoot it as much want! lol

Munky 11-19-2010 12:10 AM

Hitting up my local indoor tomorrow to take my new (to me) UCII for our maiden voyage together. Can't wait!!! I wish I didn't have a class in the morning so I could go earlier.

i can bring it for you to hold but i broke it during disassemble 4 hours after getting it :o (i didnt read the instructions and the safety got knocked on with the slide off the frame) i am waiting on parts from Sig which MAY arrive saturday in which case you could potentially shoot it assuming i dont do anything to break her again. :wiggle:
