...in .300 WinMag because he said .338 Lapua is just too hard to find and too expensive to shoot.

anyone want to recommend some glass for him? I have absolutely zero experience with long range shooting.

sweet! i have a howa in 300win... that bitch kicks like theres no tomorrow, good call though lapua ammo is like 4 bucks/round or something last time we picked it up for the 98bravo

::edit:: glass, leupold makes some really nice ****, thats what i have on the REPR (that im getting back tomorrow :) :) :) ) it really depends on what he wants to spend, a good leupold is gonna run you 1000-1500ish. i have a millet on my savage model 10 and loved it (and i think it cost +/- $500ish), you shot it, so that should give you an idea of quality, etc. (even though it was low right sighted in)

I know it's not a gun, but it's still a weapon, so I figured I'd show it off...

For those who don't recognize it, this is a USMC Ka-Bar fighting knife.

It is a form 1....I just put it up on GB last night. It already hit the reserve.

that looks cool, but bolt would only seem necessary with the lapua (and there like 4-5 bucks a shot) we have a 98 bravo and its awesome, just too damn expensive to shoot...

Im picking up my REPR tomorrow and am trying to shoot this weekend if you want to try her out.

Damn....I wish I could! I'm working this weekend. I've been watching GB for a good deal on a 20" one.

i have the 18", not sure if you knew or not but the barrels are interchangeable (i guess thats where the Rapid Engagement part of the name came from) we could always work out a trade deal for your brothers M11 or one of your other FA toys  )

HAHA....my brother said he's never getting rid of it. It's his first C3 gun. I think I may have bought another toy though. I haven't finalized the deal but it looks like I'm picking up one, possibly two FNC sears. Then I'm going to cross my fingers and hope the BATF say's it's legal to install them in a scar. I know some one sent them a conversion for their approval recently.

two? i hope your getting a deal because that is a **** ton of $$

blkZ06 11-12-2010 10:57 PM

FNC sears are only a couple grand a pop

SCAR conversion is a no go ATF denied it, it's being appealed but you know how fast C3 **** gets sorted out it will be buried in paperwork for years

claytons range is opened up, its very bright and clean, its super nice and has a air filtration system, its just very noisy, and i was 1 of 2 people shooting.

can you explain that to me? i get the form 4 stamp for the sear and i drop it in an semi FNC? how exactly does that work? drop in sears never really made sense to me.

blkZ06 11-13-2010 02:43 AM

you pay 2-3,000 for a 1oz piece of metal
buy a semi auto FNC for a couple gs
send both the Curtis at S&H Arms I think he charges 600$ for the conversion, wait..... wait...... continue to wait and ta-da full auto FNC

True.....I just talked to someone yesterday. He couldn't give me all the details but a working model full auto scar has been sent in to the ATF for approval. It took them 15 minutes to install the fnc sear in the scar. The guy I talked to said it was actually easier to install the sear in the scar then an FNC. Who the hell knows if he is feeding me a line of BS though. I was honestly looking at an FNC before I heard any of this. I thought it was a dead issue also. Only reason I might buy two is the dealer offered me one at a fair price ($2,500) so I figured what the heck....I'll take two. I know he has multiple sears. Any word on the HK Jordan? If you could PM me the serial number(we forgot to copy it) and I'll call the ATF and see. I figured the paperwork should be back anyday now.

CMR076: The ATF has to approve the use of the FNC autosear in a scar first. I just read a letter that a guy recieved back from them awhile back (before the semi scar was released) and it didn't completely shut him down. It said he couldn't do it becuase their was no semi auto scar approved for the market (at the time). Therefore if he did it they would look at it as him building a machinegun since that what a scar was. I think it's a longshot to happen....but if it does my $2,500 investment could turn into 10k real quick.

I needed (wanted) a new pocket piece being that I absolutely HATE my LCP and refuse to carry it... I also wanted a new zombie gun.

New pocket pistol:

Sig P238 Liberty edition.
- factory nite sites
- nitron coated

I also picked up a pinky extended mag (thanks jeremy II) which totally transformed the gun into something that fill my hand PERFECTLY. I put 200 rounds down range and had 4 FTE and 1 FTF. All in all i LOVE this little gun, it was pricey compared to the other pocket guns out there but the recoil is extremely manageable compared to the alternatives.

New zombie killer:

LWRC REPR 18" medium weight barrel
- geissele trigger
- Magpul MIAD grip
- Magpul UBR stock
- Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40
- Harris 6-9 bi-pod w/ swivel & rail adaptor
- Magpul P-mags
- Rubber "magpul's"

I also got a magpul PRS stock but im not sure if i want to switch it up just yet... All in all the gun is amazing! I love the fact that you can swap barrel lengths out (from 12"-20"). The recoil was heavy but manageable (much heavier than the SCAR-H that i was going to get instead of the REPR) I am pretty sure this one is going to be a keeper (if you know me at all you know i trade in guns like its nobodies business once I pick something out about them I dislike.)

OK ill shut up now, heres a few pictures!

^very jealous. Nice toys! Want to sell the LCP? I've been thinking about getting one for a while now, just haven't found one for the right price. I don't think I'll ever really shoot it, I just want something tiny for when it's not easy to carry at work. As small as the M&P is, it's just not practical to wear while working in a body shop. Since I'll rarely shoot it and I'll only be carrying it at work where it's dusty and dirty I definitely don't want something nice, just something that goes bang.
