i dont hate on the classics... except for GTOs... and roadrunners with that rediculous wing lol

CHAOS 10-08-2009 09:31 AM

lol. classic muscle cars are usually awful at everything besides feeling nostaligic. theyre usually slow, heavy and dont handle for ****.

sleeperSL2 10-08-2009 09:32 AM

Before he bought the GTO brand new, he had a '69 Camaro SS, he put a rod through the block and sold it. I was like WTF dad haha

:iagree: And they're usually painted pretty colors. :-p

DPancoast 10-08-2009 09:39 AM

morning everyone.

def a better mental day than yesterday lol. glad the weather is nice and that the weekend is a day away. nothing new to report really... have to do an oil change, plugs, and fuel filter on my car after work so everything is fresh for Bear Mountain Saturday. gonna have to get up at like 6am... sucks but it'll bw worth it since it wont be raining once we are on our way later in the day.

hope everyone has a nice day!

also the only classic muscle i really like looks wise are the older chevelles and 69 camaros

I can speak that of my dad's '41 Chevy Pickup, it was meant for show, but not his '69. That aint no slouch sir.

This is true, but the fact that its that old and resored or kept in good shape is cool for that reason alone. And you don't see them on the road everyday either.

Foolinaround 10-08-2009 09:44 AM

i love road runners cause my dad had one.

HickRocket1258 10-08-2009 09:46 AM

That is true sir. We don't mess around with our ****. All motor, it's the fastest car on this site. But I don't want to make that a whole mess.

sleeperSL2 10-08-2009 09:49 AM

My dad does want to eventually have it torn down and brought back to new. freshen up the motor, paint and everything. but he's not sure where to take it or how to go about doing that. hes very particular with his cars haha. he'd do it himself but pushin 60, he's not testing himself haha

Oh come on. My dad is 60 years old, still drag racing and still working on his own ****. It's not about age, it's about determination haha. Oh and if you were to ever see his camaro, you would see that he is very clean and particular with his wiring.

sleeperSL2 10-08-2009 09:51 AM

Well, i understand that but he has some health problems and what not..so yeah.

Elliott18t 10-08-2009 09:52 AM

Sorry to hear that. I could see that being a problem.

sleeperSL2 10-08-2009 09:56 AM

It's cool. He almost had his legs amputated back in the day, literally told the doctor FU im getting a second opinion, he did, was prescribed some meds, still has both haha.

anywho, if i was more mechanically savvy i'd take on the task..but not so much haha

CHAOS 10-08-2009 09:58 AM

IMO working on cars is easy, as long as you have the knowledge. and you are small lol. my bear paw hands make certain things impossible.

I hear ya. I'm not mechanically savy like my dad. He is very knowledgeable. I wish he would spend the time to help me with some of my own things and he could teach me more.

I hear you on that John. No one in my family is small between my bro, dad and I. Kind of tough at times.

This is the camaro that my dad has. My brother is lucky so far being able to run it at times. It will be passed to one of us one day, but I'd probably just let me brother have it.

Foolinaround 10-08-2009 10:15 AM

HickRocket1258 10-08-2009 10:20 AM

I'm going to seem like a retard I'm sure, but who is Ryan Sherwood? Oh nevermind I realized. Wow that is not cool.

Elliott18t 10-08-2009 10:21 AM

fellow vw owner, but he is good friends to many people on this forum i believe and visits now and then.

DPancoast 10-08-2009 10:54 AM

what a shock man...

i wonder if there will be a meet/benefit setup.

Foolinaround 10-08-2009 10:55 AM

im sure there will be a meet or benefit cruise for him, just the gravity of someone dying out of no where is flooring. let alone someone that you have met

Elliott18t 10-08-2009 10:56 AM

didnt know him, but id go..

HickRocket1258 10-08-2009 10:59 AM

We should have like a meet from one spot to another, with RIP Sherwood on the back window of our cars.

I almost don't want to be on this site anymore today because I'll see the Sherwood thread.

CHAOS 10-08-2009 11:04 AM

ive already got a great idea for the cruise. confirming details with his closer friends to make sure it would be a place he would have enjoyed.

Snoozie 10-08-2009 11:07 AM

Jon, I love your avatar. Thank you for making me laugh. :(

CHAOS 10-08-2009 11:09 AM

HickRocket1258 10-08-2009 11:15 AM

I got a ninja mask to block the wind from my chin but it hasn't been cold enough to need that yet. Between my winter gloves, jacket liner and chin guard I was pretty warm this morning as well (on the bike). I'll be riding well into the 30's I think. The engine does a good job of keeping my legs warm ;)

Yeah my mom's 64 GTO is all original, 81,000 miles and it's definitely a little rough. I took it for a drive the other day and the right front brake drum keeps sticking. Bitch is hard to drive with no power steering. I gotta eat my wheaties.

Foolinaround 10-08-2009 11:33 AM

im down for this too, maybe start a thread to organize it?
