thanks!

What a bitch it was getting the roll pin at the rear of the trigger guard out! Took 3 days worth of soaking with penetrating oil/hammering before I finally got it.

As for sights, front is a Midwest Industries HK-style, rear is a generic flip-up that came on the gun. Eventually I'd like to replace the rear with the Midwest "SPLP" rear flip up cause this generic one seems a little wobbly. Or, to satisfy my OCD I may just replace both sights with troy units to match my troy rail system.

Now that I'm finally back among the employed segment of the population and have a normal salary coming in next purchase will be an Eotech XPS... well, assuming I don't get sucked into buying more parts for the suby first lol.

hmmm, sway bars? or eotech...:banana:

DPancoast 09-27-2010 11:03 PM

...

i've also been looking at 870s or 500s... any reason you'd go with one over the other? the saiga is an option too i guess as long as i can find one cheap enough, but from what i've heard they're all kind of crappy.

my goal for the shotgun is home defense, but i like the idea of buying a longer barrel to swap out and use for board shoots and trap once in a while. that's why i'm looking at the 870 and 500, because parts are everywhere and they're all pretty cheap.

btw, is the CPI shoot on the 9th definitely going to happen? i saw something in the event thread that you didn't schedule it yet.

Picked up the first 1911 full sized. $275. Ambi safety, extended release, extended beavertail, skeleton hammer and trigger.

$275?? How'd you pull that one off?

You heard saigas are crappy?? Details?

I've been lusting after one of those for a while now but won't get one if they're pieces of crap.

they follow the same principle as the AK, not geared torwards quality but they go off when you pull the trigger

have 1000+ rounds through mine with no issue

Good to hear. That's exactly what I'm looking for it to do.

There was someone on the PAFOA site not long ago bashing them and saying they are useless as a defensive tool because they aren't reliable. Sounded strange to me considering they're built on the same platform as what is commonly known as the most reliable and robust assault rifle in the world (AK).

Used at Cabelas. Plus I had a coupon for $25 back for every $100 I spent. So it really was $350. But now I have a store credit for $75 next time I go in. Sooooo either AK ammo or a IWB holster and spare mag are up.

Hmmmmmmmm 520 rounds of 7.62x39 or a carry holster or night sights. Decision decisions.

Also found out that the combat serrations, combat sights, and ambi safety don't appear to be stock.

ITSTOCK 09-28-2010 06:48 PM

What kind of 1911 is it?

And I don't know if this is okay with TST, but if anyone wants to trade (obviously has to go through FFL) a G26 w/lasermax and Mtac for an AR or full size gun, let me know. I want guns that I'll get more use out of, and being that I already have a carry gun, the G26 is just sitting.

hey man can you make it to the group shoot? I know you have lots of fun toys. :)

My schedule doesn't really allow me to make firm commitments, but when and where is it?

rodder 09-28-2010 09:46 PM

Wow. HB40 (Castle Doctrine or "Stand Your Ground") is finally out of the appropriations committee and is scheduled for a full house vote next tuesday.

Hooray!!

PS, it's not over yet, please call and/or email your reps to help get this thing passed.
