scar is a poor choice for the chopping block considering all the other stuff you have sitting around

you like yours THAT much?

cmr076 09-25-2010 11:44 PM

regardless it should still be around for the group shoot so you guys can have your fun with her then!

blkZ06 09-26-2010 02:57 AM

I like my scar a hell of a lot better than a lot of the other rifles you could sell instead

ITSTOCK 09-26-2010 12:17 PM

I agree with selling two of your other guns instead of the one SCAR.

CMR, this is from the other thread, and I was just waiting until the rest of the room security was done and tied in to my home alarm.

I still haven't decided which guns are going on the wall or how I am laying it out. I also have another 4'x8' that I can cut up.

Overall, for my home office, I'm happy with it. The slatwall filled up a LOT quicker than I thought though.

I can get through any safe there is in under 2 minutes. The only worries of mine are fire, and for that I have my priceless items in a safe. The ones on the wall are insured. Even then, the safe items are only good for an hour or so under a hot fire.

Gated window, deadbolt solid door, cctv+motion tied to my alarm company is comfort enough for me. They are no safer in a safe (well, perhaps if you count this security plus the 2 minutes it takes for a demo saw to cut through a safe) than they are "in the open", just my opinion on the matter and how I see the subject.

What are your concerns with "leaving them in the open"? It's rather easy to build a "safe" room, and you can even fire proof it to some degree. 1/16" steel backed drywall is fire rated and just as secure as a real safe, and it's reasonably priced too. Ideally a climate controlled concrete surround would be the go to method, but it's usually NOT ideal to do this. What is your house built like?

i wasnt bashing you at all and i hope it didnt come across that way. I live in a 100 year old house with no construction experience haha, my guns stay in a safe, if not to keep people out, than to keep my piece of mind at ease.

I would LOVE a "safe room" and plan on building one when im done school and get this damn law degree. For now my safe will have to do and i can admire and be jealous of your setup :(

When its time maybe i can contract you to put a nice safe rrom together for me  i saw what you did to that bathroom, you clearly got skeelz.

90HP 09-26-2010 11:37 PM

I didn't take it as a bash at all, just seeing what your concerns were. Most concerns are easily overcome by taking the right measures and realizing just how good or bad thieves can be at their job.
