Evo's don't seem taken care of if they take that long to detail. I wonder how long it would take you to do my paint

Oakes 09-08-2009 03:34 PM

Well, this one is a Track Driven DD, and I've been taking my time with it because I get better results that way ;)

HickRocket1258 09-08-2009 03:40 PM

How many cars would you say you do in a week Nick, on average? 2?

Oakes 09-08-2009 03:42 PM

2-3 a week, sometimes 4. It's already been an STi, this Evo, another Evo gets dropped off Thursday, and a Jetta on Saturday

ASIAN JUL 09-08-2009 03:43 PM

I lost anyones number that I've gotten in the last year. So pretty much yeah I lost everyone from TST

HickRocket1258 09-08-2009 03:56 PM

That's good. I think I might start experimenting with some products on my mustang. Paint got all buggered up because I let it sit outside for so long and get all crapped up when it was down.

Oakes 09-08-2009 03:57 PM

do it, better to find out on your own car than someone elses haha. I've got a bunch of stuff to order....

Been pretty busy. Got laid off Friday so I've been applying for jobs and spending more time with friends and my boyfriend Brandon. Went to his house for the long weekend... got home last night... had a busy day today. It's weird not being on here all day, but I have to apply to places and run errands before the wedding on saturday!!

LOL oh Ken! you're such a dirty boy! :P

PS... yes, I know this is a bit late, but I've been busy all day today! :P

Oakes 09-08-2009 04:00 PM

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand break time is over. Only about 2 hours worth of work left on this Evo, then it's sealant time which takes about 2-3 hours to cure so TECHNICALLY I'll be done the car by 6 but it'll need until later tonight to get the last go over.

russiankid 09-08-2009 04:07 PM

So Newegg tells me that they shipped my laptop cooler from CA, they also provided a tracking number. However, for my laptop, they just said its shipped from NJ. So I don't need a tracking number for an expensive piece of machinery?

jpalamar 09-08-2009 04:14 PM

Amazon ships for NY and NJ too. Can't see why it matters how close or far/ cheap or pricy the item was. You paid for a serivce(shipping) that has a tracking number, you should get a tracking number or a refund of shipping. Personally, if they treated me like that I would say I never got it just to spite them, then show them their emails saying they wouldn't provide you a tracking number.

I am sure it'll show up today or tomorrow, but still a bit weird.

Gotta love high quality customer service. That seems to be the way most companies are. I wish they would go back to good old just do the job right the first time. You wouldn't believe how many times I walked out of places that treated me bad.

When I went to get my GTO, places wouldn't let me test drive them, saying I couldn't afford it and crap. I was like dude, you don't know how much money I make, how long I may have been saving, or if I enharited a ton of money and wanna waste it on a car. After I spoke to the GM at the dealer, they still said no joy rides. I told them I was serious about buying one, but wasn't going to jsut buy it becuse of a few knows issues I wanted to check first. I waived my certified check for $25k in their face, gave them the finger, and bought my car somewhere else.

They did they same thing to Julie yesterday at the dealer when we looked at a GXP G8. They kept telling her she couldn't handle the car. She said **** you, I just sold a mid 12s GTO last month. I can out drive you and we left. I of course emailed back since they didn't have my info and went to see the best deal they would give and it wasn't **** anyway. Keep in mind we pullin in with my GTO all cleaned up and looking great to. Didn't even roll up in a rusty crap box.

crazyduckme 09-08-2009 04:22 PM

Mmmm could totally go for some chocolate right now :P

I ALMOST bought Season 5 of the Office. SO CLOSE. but... trying to save! Bah!
I need Pete's Dragon to come out... cause that's my next purchase!

In this economy they are taking every precaution possible, even if it means to be complete dicks. My brother bought a new car not to long ago, and he rolled up in his mint 90' 535i BMW. Car is completely rebuilt with a new paint job...basically everything. They thought it was a clunker. :bigeek:

It's still only worth 4-5k, regardless of how mint it is to YOU, any dealership won't care.

With the economy the way it is, the yshould be kissing everyones bum that walks in the door. They can't afford to lose a sale. I should email our story to GM and ask how they can use my tax money to stay in business and not even sell me a car.

Scapegoat 09-08-2009 04:28 PM

ugh... i gotta drive to feasterville after work... gotta fight the damn traffic, totally skipping out at 4:45...

He wasn't trading it in. He wanted a new car so went to buy one...and they thought he was going to do the cash for clunkers. And if the car is worth 4k, you can tell a clunker from a non-clunker.

You should ask for a free car out of that. :-p

HickRocket1258 09-08-2009 04:38 PM

I talked to my boss. He wants me to start working with other departments as soon as possible which he said means a bump up in pay as well. Man only a week here and he's already talking this.

Ken, you know me... I look well under 21 lol I'm surprised the guy at Mazda didn't even ask me for my license before I test drove the mazda3 last month or whenever it was. Oh well I guess. He just handed over the car and told me to get in. I normally get **** for everything since I look so young

Oakes 09-08-2009 05:13 PM

I look young, but since I don't bull**** I've never had a problem getting test drives. I've driven BMWs, Infinitis, Benzes, Acuras, GMs and the list goes on but in all honesty I was typically shopping for my parents lol

$740 to swap my BMW for a 5-speed...anyone want to make an early b-day present? :(

FazdaGt 09-08-2009 06:09 PM

^^^ really if you think about it that's not too much to spend for something like that.

on a personal note, after turning my resume into literally a portfolio that is very specific to the job i'm interviewing for to sell myself to this company, they better give me the job! tomorrow!

DPancoast 09-08-2009 06:22 PM

I only look young if I shave. I do that when I feel like it lol

For a ZF 320Z(M3 trans) swap...that is cheap as ****. Trans alone is $350-400 considering mine has 118k on it. I am just broke. :(

DPancoast 09-08-2009 06:39 PM

I just ate 25 pretzel nuggets and a thing of jalepeno mustard... so good... but ohhh boy

Foolinaround 09-08-2009 06:40 PM

thats gonna feel nice later.

DPancoast 09-08-2009 06:46 PM

What do you do for Acura?

omgjacki 09-08-2009 07:31 PM

I've been a part-time cashier for 2.5 years now but because I'm the last person these customers see, I have to hear all of their bull**** if their car isn't washed or if something went wrong. Luckily, I know enough about this place to reason with most them, unlike the other cashiers here, but once in a while I'll get those customers that just don't want to hear it and they blame me for their problems, like this bitch did tonight.

Foolinaround 09-08-2009 07:31 PM

i wanna work for acura.

No you don't. These customers think they are on top of the world because Acura is generally, a higher-end car and they feel that because they don't have to pay for their BMW to get serviced, that they shouldn't have to pay for their Acura either. They don't realize that Acura is at the bottom of the food chain to BMW.
