Relax. It's just a car-related discussion in a completely non-car related thread. lol

What I'm getting at, is that running an engine on anything short of all of it's cylinders = severly shortened reliability. I'll take my 6yr/60k mile warranty, wear it out and move on. I've seen these cars get 80+k on them in less than a year and only need oil changes and tires. Ford is doing their **** right, which is why they're doing the best of the big domestic 3 and getting better reliability ratings than German counterparts.

My Honda starts right up on the first try and its a carburetor. It has 163k on the carburetor and carburetors are known to go out, maybe not with that mileage but its 20 years old. I keep up with fuel system treatments and cleaning the carburetor so zero issues. So yes, maintenance is a big factor. Hell my BMW would not make it to the Exton meet if I don't take an hour or two out of my time every other week to check it over.

I wouldn't buy a GM product do to their design and interior. It seems plain to me.

Its a 5-speed manual, so that helps. Its slow, I don't race it. Its reliable as hell though.

Its a 2- barrel carb with a vacuum secondary. So pretty much runs on one barrel until about 3500rpms.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he uses his hands and legs, maybe some eye action thrown in there if necessary.

Xavier 02-25-2009 04:35 PM

Carburetors have wheels?
