Just a heads up, most jersey cops will just arrest you and let you sort it out in court. Jersey isn't neutral on guns, they're actually hostile to gun owners.

I know PA cops that NJ cops tried to jam up for carrying their off duty weapon in NJ

Don't blame the cops, blame the laws...

I grew up in jersey and lived there up until just a few years ago. The NJSP routinely disregard federal law and arrest people traveling through the state with firearms locked and stored as per federal interstate transport laws, costing innocent and law-abiding citizens thousands of dollars in legal fees to defend themselves from bogus charges.

The state laws in jersey are bad enough already but the police there seem to have a particular disdain for 2nd Amendment supporters. The stories are really too numerous for me to get into here.

For a real quick personal example, my father in law was just turned down for jury consideration in a case where they're trying to railroad a law enforcement officer moving from Maine to Texas who was traveling through NJ with his personal firearms in the back of his SUV. The poor guy first of all made the mistake of spending the night in jersey, and made a 2nd mistake of sleeping in his car in the parking lot of a bank. Of course to the cops in jersey this automatically means he was trying to rob the bank and he's currently awaiting trial.

They dropped all the "attempted bank robbery" charges and now the ONLY thing he's being charged with is the gun "crime" of transporting weapons through the state (which is protected under federal law). He didn't ever even try to enter the bank, nor did he ever go near to or carry any of the guns, but according to jersey just the mere presence of firearms means he must be guilty of a crime.

For the most part the "authorities" in jersey view themselves as being the only ones privileged and responsible enough to carry firearms. It's one of the main reasons I got the hell out of there.

another example of the jackboots that call themselves law enforcement officers in jersey. VV

sorry to hear that. lol.

first blame the general populous of NJ, with their extreme ignorance and screwed up way of thinking, where they imagine a Utopian gun free and therefore violence free society. Those people are the ones who elected the officials, who should be next in line for the blame. Those elected officials see the pattern, and understand that their subjects "drink the Kool-Aid" and believe that writing stricter gun laws positively affects crime rates... that less legal guns = safer communities. Since they know what their subjects want, they're fully committed to giving it to them on a silver platter since it will keep them in office, and that's the only thing any politician wants.

Next, blame the experienced LEOs and all of the training staff who pass on the biased and hateful ways of thinking that teach the new officers to hate all guns, legally owned or not. They teach that all non-LEOs with guns are to be treated as criminals, because only criminals should feel the need to own or carry a gun.

With all of the 'stupid' floating around over there across the border in the PRNJ, it comes back to the people. Aside from a relative few number of gun owners and people who desire true freedom, no one over there could give two sh**s about whether they're free or not, they're happy to hear the bullsh** that idiots like the Brady-bunch spout off about guns being evil. They're too ignorant to realize what they're doing to themselves and too lazy to research it or care. 'big brother' says guns are bad, so they just nod their heads and agree, and when it comes to the next election, they just blindly hit 'VOTE' for the guy who says he wants to keep them safer.

so yeah... from the surface it appears that we should just hate the laws and not the cops or the people in NJ. When you really think about it, it's the general population of NJ who is at fault. they want strict gun laws so they elect people who are willing to give them what they want. it's the people who indirectly write the laws. when you elect someone who will be put in a position to make your decisions for you, you had better think about their entire agenda before you vote. national, state, local, doesn't matter.

the same goes for people who say "it's Bush's fault!" or "its' all Obama's fault". NO... it's 'our' fault because we fell for the BS and elected them.

and yes i realize that you aren't the typical sheep of a NJ resident. lol. just ranting.

cmr076 08-31-2010 06:59 PM

ok.

So, CPI called me back. apparently "we dont normally do this on a saturday, but since you guys are such good customer, etc. etc. we will"

the dates they gave me that they are not doing security training are:

9/25
9/26
10/2
10/3
10/9
10/10

JORDAN

i asked about NFA just for you, they said just bring the papers and for us they will break their "cardinal rule" and you can bring the belt fed if you want... i would just say no 50bmg, if the lapua is no fun to shoot there i doubt the barrett would be.

if any of those dates work i need to let them know as well as a definite on who is in, i dont want them to shut down an entire room of bays for me and have 3 people show up.

since i seem to have pretty much lost interest in modding cars, I ordered a few new parts for the SCAR, MAGPUL AFG (angled fore grip), MAGPUL MIAD (fits like ****, need a longer screw, pics to follow), MAGPUL safety selector (very minor but feels WAY better, and finally a FDE eotech.

http://i53.tinypic.com/15nriug.jpg

sorry for the lack of pictures, i have been swamped at work. very soon you will see her with a much shorter barrel and a can, i just need a few more dollars haha.

::side note:: ordered FN rail covers, apparently FN ships things when they want and to whom they want so there is no ETA but i cant wait! i am also patiently awaiting the release of troys tritium BUS's and T6 folding button... i have two calls and an email in to them about that, so we shall see.

::edit:: added another FN to the fam.

http://i53.tinypic.com/e0mk51.jpg

short barrel and can for her soon too hopefully.

lastly, im going to CPI to shoot tomorrow if anyone wants to come.

i CAN afford it, I am just the most impatient person in the world... The scar was an impulse buy, the idea of waiting months for paperwork seems terrible. If you can get a price out of your brother for the M11 maybe that would be a good step into the big boy toys.

I know...I'm just busting your chops. I'll get a price for you.
PS The wait does suck! Waiting for the 51 from Jordan as I type!
