Highly doubt it is a vacuum leak.

If the tensioner is wearing or worn, it's not too far fetched that it skipped a tooth, right?

I haz no sources - just going by what they said. The timing chain skipped a tooth, according to their 3 days of diagnostics.. but no one seems to agree that they're right. It runs fine, just still has a rough idle. *shrug* Any suggestions since you obvi know more than I?

Yeah, I mean I'm looking to get a different car in the summer or so.. but I'd at least like to know for sure what's wrong with it before I get rid of it.

She has an Ecotec, both of my Cavs had the power plant preceding the Ecotecs. I've not heard of them randomly skipping teeth and I can't imagine if it did it would run as well as it does. As long as it is running, fuggit. When it gets warmer maybe I'll look into it deeper.
And it doesn't idle rough, shes full of ****. :) At times it rocks a little but it is intermittent. I've had vacuum leaks and the symptoms have never come and gone. |
