Since thats the case you can likely elliminate plugs/wires as they would be cyl specific as your likely looking for something that effects the whole engine. EGR cleaning and compression check would be first on my list. Maybe even a glance at the O2s, clean MAF?

Does it throw the code when the engine is cold, warm, doesn't matter?

Any valvetrain noises? Its a chain but its always possible a guide ir tensioner went bad. This would be last on my list of things though.

Seems to throw when warm, usually 20-30 minutes into my commute. The first time it took a full day to throw again, last time it threw it the same day.
Haven't noticed any noise, engine sounds smooth, and seems to rev smooth. no in-ordinary vibrations. Just the seldom hesitation on decel.

Plan clean or swap egr, check the plugs and compression.

So I'm heading to Harrisburg today to tour Appalachian Brewing and Troegs while some friends are in town for the holiday. Having the typical and cliche ugly sweater party tonight. Pretty stoked about today. Going to pick up a case of Evil Genius beer, too, since Harrisburg is the closest place for me to get it.

schaffer 12-22-2012 06:55 PM

Spent the day running around and got the Mrs some shiny stuff and got myself a new firearm.

Also replaced the battery in my dads sidekick and it seems the alternator is toast too.

jpalamar 12-22-2012 09:50 PM

Had nothing to do today so I made some prime rib...

It was very good. Picked up an 8lb one for Christmas too.

lownslow95 12-23-2012 12:00 PM

Not sure why my department isn't off today. The contractors that I deal with for Medicare aren't in and it isn't like I have any administrative stuff to catch up on.

Oh well... will be watching Meet The Spartins and Hangover today I guess.

mckpat03 12-24-2012 01:47 PM

Eh, that stinks. I'd probably be doing the same thing, haha. I guess I'm pretty fortunate to get a holiday for both Christmas Eve and NYE this year. Two four day weekends in a row. Pretty happy about it. Wednesday is going to be absurdly hectic, though.

lownslow95 12-24-2012 05:52 PM

Worked 7-3 today, kinda slow. Working 3-11 tomorrow, gonna be super slow. Probably going to have to bring my iPad in so I don't become bored out of my mind while I'm 'working'.

mckpat03 12-24-2012 09:03 PM

My friend's dad treated himself to a nice gift today. He had an orange with white Boss. Traded it for for a black 2013 GT500. Can't wait for him to hit the track with it next year.

Merry Christmas everyone! The holiday went better then expected. No crazy family drama and actually got some good stuff that we wanted for a change.

mcperson2k 12-25-2012 08:24 PM

So... I was out with my mom 2 weeks ago to the day, and we left Best Buy with my Christmas present, iPhone 5. Changed my mind, and decided I was going to get the Nokia Lumia 920 (Windows 8 phone)... Thought I would just wait for Christmas to be over, and return it since I have 30 days. Turns out, I can return the phone, but AT&T takes away your upgrade 2 weeks after using it, which I never knew. So if I were to return it, we would get our money back, but not be eligible for another upgrade.... LAME! But its what ever, I have nothing against the iPhone, just wanted something different, and I loved the fact that you could use the screen on the Lumia 920 with normal gloves on.

With that said, I upgraded from an iPhone 4. I had the OtterBox Defender case (The original, made just for the iPhone 4) and I love it. However I got the new Defender case for the iPhone 5, and it feels cheap as ****. I feel like I am holding a Fisher Price toy. Does anyone know of any comparable cases for the iPhone 5 that don't feel like plastic?

jpalamar 12-25-2012 08:28 PM

Check your contract. You might have 30 days to return the phone to the vender for another but maybe only 14 days to opt out of the contact. I remember things like that I when I used to do sell phones for RadioShack back in the day.

they make a few different versions of the otter box. I had a basic black and basic black one on my 4s, the defender version. They were both pretty robust and have held up to the abuse i put phones through between work and play.

My realtree one i got feels a little cheaper and the rubber sleeve that goes over the hard plastic clam shell isn't as rubbery as the other ones,so it doesn't grip as well. i can't complain, only paid 20 bucks for it.

That being said, this is my 3rd otterbox defender in a year but i put my phones through hell.

Morning guys. Back to work for a few days :( Gonna be a couple really long days trying to finish my current project.

jpalamar 12-26-2012 09:33 AM

Same here. Going to be quiet but can get some work done. Although going to hard considering no one will be here.

Got some good **** for Christmas. My favorite is probably the blow-in insulation for the attic. Will make a huge difference for the cold and hot weather down the road.

grimm 12-26-2012 09:52 AM

Morning all hope you all had a great holiday, and it sounds like you guys did. Mine was good, I got lots of things I had wanted so no returns for me. I even picked myself up something I had my eye on for a while.

jpalamar 12-26-2012 09:54 AM

We had a good haul this year. Got a GoPro Hero3 Black, 5' tall popcorn cart, cotton candy machine, hot dog machine, deep fryer, and a few other little things.

I think I'll be packing on a few lbs though.

TR MS3 12-26-2012 09:58 AM

Jay spotted you getting on 422 at collegeville.

BTW, those gifts are pure win! lol

I saw a red 3 and didn't even think anything of it. Was still 1/2 asleep.

Movie theater theme in the living room :-)

HickRocket1258 12-26-2012 10:09 AM

Damn Jay you made out real well bro.

Other things were flood lamps, overhead lights for the garage (I only have one incondesent bulb for it, so lighting sucks), table saw from fiance, and some other nooks and crannies. I love how my dad gave me a few hundred in cash and said make sure you spend this on yourself, not paint for the house, or furniture, just get something for yourself. Hello converter.

hopefully the deep fryer will remain in the kitchen. although I could easily picture it sitting next to you frying something as you watch tv.

jpalamar 12-26-2012 10:20 AM

Julie handles the deep frying. Would be epic to have one built into the couch though.

TR MS3 12-26-2012 10:26 AM

That would be sweet! Unfortunately that would be the death of me. I could see that news headline now,

Man Dies on couch, note reads, " It was worth it!"

HickRocket1258 12-26-2012 10:40 AM

Doesn't that **** smell up the house though when you deep fry?

It does... but not for long. We also crack the window in the kitchen to clear it out. It isn't overwhelming but you can def tell something was fried.

Solid lineup of gifts! That's awesome haha.

Also, this snow is awesome. We got enough up in the mountains to make it worthwhile to take the Talon out this weekend. And this stuff today is adding up pretty quickly so far. The Talon is really getting the snot beat out of it haha.
