ASIAN JUL 08-21-2009 12:48 PM

Julz is not a bitch... unless making a joke constitutes being a bitch.

CHAOS 08-21-2009 12:51 PM

hey julia, show me your tits.

DPancoast 08-21-2009 12:54 PM

Modding is like throwing a rock off a cliff. The faster you fall the more you mod. When you hit the bottom, you realize you're done.

Oakes 08-21-2009 12:56 PM

Hey Julia, still engaged?

lagos 08-21-2009 12:58 PM

I dont know... I'd say I did my share of mods on my car, and it was the best decision I ever made. Not only did I learn a lot about cars from it, but I built a car that can hold its own against cars worth three times as much and I increased its value. I love my car.

and i could argue that view is wrong til im blue in the face. it goes both ways.

Elliott18t 08-21-2009 01:08 PM

i would disagree that it increased in value, but wouldnt say it lost any because of mods. lol.

DPancoast 08-21-2009 01:27 PM

I'm with art in the respect that I've learned SO much with all the **** I've been through. But it's also calmed me down and made me think a little bit and not just impulse mod.

My boyfriend wants me to get an exhaust and CAI... but we'll see how that goes.

You ordered springs without matching shocks? LOL, good luck containing your lunch in that car! Boingy booingy boingy!

I am getting the springs from a person who's already had them on my exact car for 30k miles.

215ek 08-21-2009 01:36 PM

be careful powdercoating lugs... it makes them thicker but sometimes to the point where your wrench may not fit anymore...

If you make one more post about your boyfriend, I'm going to get up from my desk, walk over to your work (Now that I work at Garnet VW) and take your computer and drop it from the roof of your building.

Yeah it all depends on the person and the car.
If you buy a higher end car, and spend thousands of dollars on rims and a stereo system and always pay someone to do the work for you, than you are neither learning anything nor are you increasing the value of your car.

Now if on the other hand you focus more on the performance side of things, and you do your own work, the money spent is more than worth the things you learned and the power you gained in the car.

I knew NOTHING about cars when I started. A few thousand dollars later I got a quick, good looking car, and I learned more than a UTI student.

So yeah, Im with Dan. The best part about modding your car is what you learn from the process. You dont mod the car, the car mods you!

phate1229 08-21-2009 02:10 PM

Doon't stop beleeeeeevin

DPancoast 08-21-2009 02:10 PM

Lunch someday?

russiankid 08-21-2009 02:11 PM

I would also like to add that you don't have to mod a car to learn from it. I personally haven't done many mods to my cars, but rebuilding them has taught me a lot.

You would learn a whole lot more if you boosted the bimmer and installed megasquirt.

I would, but I don't have the money to do that. Even though my school loan doesn't have to be paid off until I graduate, its still a wise decision to set aside money that I get to pay it off.

lagos 08-21-2009 02:15 PM

On an side note... I just found out that I've been placed on the academic honors list at my school.
How cool is that?
