Alot of people with stock dsm's look for the stock replacement used , good condition t-25. You can sell them between 100-200 depending on condition because you hafto remember, Not everyone is into dsms or knows about them, And when they call the dealer for a price on a stock replacement, It's outragous ! When they see one online used , but mint... for under 3/4 the dealer cost, They want to get it to get their car up and going again !

HaveBlue83 01-29-2013 01:54 PM

the turbo was mint. no play. needed a boost nipple and the WG reinstalled.

he is running an LS honda in the lemons racing leage and wants to do a rear mounted turbo. it was $60 on the floor to a friend, why not lol.

I ran an E316g and loved it, then I went to an HX35 and it was cool for highway, laggy @ 4200 full boost. I really love the 16g. the car is a shell right now (BACK OFF GSXKID!!!!!!!!!!!! lmao) and going to storage. I have the 16g on a 6-bolt going into a 93 summit coupe for some fun. Hopefully by the shootout it's together. I only need a clutch n flywheel, already have an EVO II harness and EPROM. just have a lot of **** I gotta payoff first. slow n steady.....

2g Talon 01-29-2013 02:43 PM

Yea I hear ya there lol.

Any video's of that talon lately? I think this is the hx40 talon correct?

Yes, it's an HX-40 car. There are a bunch on youtube on the grassroots/airport racing we've done over the last few years. Couple good vids on me vs. a modded GT-R from last year on there.

Ive always been a fan of a properly working Cyclone... for a street car of course. The torque and off boost power is absolutely fantastic with it.

Mindblown, what did you do to fabricate the fuse box mounting bracket? mine is broken and wont re-attach because of my UICP, yours looks like it bulges into the engine bay more and may actually work on mine, any ideas?.

It's actually the OEM mounting plate. I had it powdercoated but that was it.

Hey guys, maybe you can help me here. I'm going to want to throw the talon on the dyno in a few months after I get a few things ironed out. I am somewhat iffy on if I should risk it by putting that much pressure on the 7-bolt. Here is my mods list so far..

Custom 3'' turbo back exhaust fitted with a Greddy Muffler (going to be running 3'' straight pipe when i get it back, yay emissions exemption:D )
triple gauge pod (a-pillar)
auto meter boost gauge,
Fluidyne Radiator,
Innovate LC-1 wideband
FIC 650cc injectors,
SMIC with hard piping (Will have VRSF FMIC by the time I run it)
Greddy Type RS BOV (knock off with greddy Diaphragm),
MHI 20g turbo (w/ TD05H housing)
Edge Downpipe to 3'' exhaust,
Walbro 255LPH intank fuel pump,
Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer
FP 10micron turbo oil feed filter,
Injen Intake w/re-circulation tube
A'pexi SAFC II,
Aeromotive A1000 AFPR
SS Tubular Manifold
DSMlink V3 lite (will have by dyno day)

Also probably have an SS 02 w/ external 58mm wastegate, and possible PTE 1000's. (From Matt at FAST, just gotta pay for them lol)

Keep in mind this is all on stock 7 bolt internals.

Most likely going to be doing a few runs, most of them will be at around 15 psi, then one or two runs at like 20-22psi just to see the diff. Now mind you the talon is getting its maintenance (new TB, tensioners, balance shaft belt, head gasket, etc)and head work (Decking, valve job, possibly new valve seats and seals) done at FAST right now, should be done in a week or two. Seeing what I have done, what would you guys suggest? Do you think it will be ready for a decent dyno run? Also, what are my chances of walking away with a broken motor after this? lol

lol no no, im not asking for a bench racing quote, just looking to see whether or not the car will be ready for it instead of imploding on itself when i get it there.

mckpat03 02-01-2013 01:06 PM

I'd probably skip the 58 and go to the 60mm.

glad to see your getting rid of the safc and getting dsmlink. Who will you have tune the car? Turning boost up and down wont do much of any difference without proper tune.

That really depends how the tune is at the lower boost level. If its on the rich side turning the boost up a few psi will increase power. Substantially, it will both lean the car out an get the AFRs to sit at a decent number and add more CFMs.

On my black car I dynoed years ago at 15psi made 350hp was a little on the rich side, upped it to 17-18psi and made 420hp.

Is it the right way to do it? Probably not. But if you really know the car you can get away with it.

Either way to the original question, somebody holds the record on a stock seven bolt at what? like a 10.1 or something? If everything is dialed in and you have no issues with the car I wouldnt worry about it breaking.

My hp estimations. probably 340AWHP at 15psi and 405-415ish at 21-22psi.

2g Talon 02-01-2013 06:51 PM

Black, those were the answers I was looking at. The car is ok but the clutch is still stock so im thinking that will be its weak point

HaveBlue83 02-01-2013 09:03 PM

stock clutch??? yeah it's gonna be a slipppppin good time.

all i read was "my 7 bolt is gonna blow up" type worries. stop worrying so much; it's a DSM if it's running right be worried lol. 20g is fine on that motor, but that clutch......

and 58mm? I ran a 38mm PTE with no issues on 20+ psi on my 16g and 20ish psi on an HX35 breifly. why the need for that big?

2g Talon 02-01-2013 10:28 PM

Not that I need that big, buts its easily available (local guy selling it) also, would an act 2600 be too much for the 7 bolt? I hear there are issues with the 2600 pressure plate, but seems like a popular combo. Any input?

i had a fidanza 1.2 clutch and an 8lb fly and all these peope told me i was gonna walk my 150k 1995 7 bolt from increased revs and ****. at 170k i pulled the engine for a swap and no walk or anything.

run what you want and learn from mistakes you havent made yet.

you are fine, you can make 450hp on a stock (cammed) 7 bolt. run that 20g!

2g Talon 02-02-2013 12:00 AM

How did you like the fidanza on the 7 bolt? I gotta admit, its getting finished being repaired now, I dont want to induce crankwalk a week after I get it, you know?

On a side note, youll love this. Im going for a panda look on mine as well. Going black hood, roof and repainting the trunk black when I fill in the spoiler holes. Wildberry pearl panda. Suck it, lol.
