eh, some things are just ingrained... stereotypes exist for a reason.

pit bulls and the other dogs that fit into their category have been used for fighting for hundreds of years. They've been raised to be ferocious, but they were also raised to be extremely loyal to their owners. and it is their loyalty and drive to please their owner that makes them ferocious if thats how they've been trained/raised.

a pit bull is going to be a fighter regardless of how it was raised... an owner needs to be stern and loving... and do the right thing and have the dog interact with everyone and everything from an early age... from babies, to cats, to other dogs.

I totally agree, to a point. My Toy Fox Terrier could surely do some damage to someone. He's done a number on me and Keith a couple times. He was also abused at the pet store we got him from.

That being said, certain dogs are programed to act a certain way. PB's are fiecely loyal to their owners and are all too willing to please them. I just think that the breed is so corrupted at this point.

 I'm not going to get involved in this one.

I just had the best breakfast sandwich-eggs, cheese, and turkey bacon

grimm 01-07-2009 11:36 AM

well pits are actually a very intelligent breed of dog. they just get a bad rap due to how their owners raise them.

having an experience like yours i could understand not liking them.

Personally I don't like dalmatians. those dogs are mean!

Dont get me wrong, I love a good manly, loyal dog, like Shepards and Dobermans and Rots but Pits I just cant like.

only dogs I dont like are small little dogs that bark uncontrollably ... and golden retrievers because they are dumb.

I don't either! I was bit by one when I was younger. They scare me so bad. My friend in HS also had two of them. The one was just downright nasty. He must have known I didn't like him. Every time I came in the house he would just sit there and growl at me showing his teeth.

I can raise a GSD for The Seeing Eye. I've been thinking about getting one of them to maybe get over my distaste for them.

Well everything is subjective and relative. I wouldn't go up to every pit bull and play with them, but i wouldn't go up to every human and josh around with them either. I just think it's kind of wrong to judge a breed, just like it's wrong to judge a race.

there are bad people in the world just like there are bad dogs.

I personally have met more dangerous or vicious little dogs than big dogs. mainly due to there insecurity because of their size. And how they are some what babied by their owners due to their size.

(i watched a few episodes of dog whisperer)

Elliott18t 01-07-2009 11:41 AM

haha its not a problem, I just noticed that.

I got creative this time and got some random flavored bagels and made a steak and egg sandwich with steakumms on an onion bagel. Badass!

I agree. Little dogs definately have some type of a napoleon complex.
I love big dogs, they seem to be alot more calm and friendly.

twastheglow 01-07-2009 11:45 AM

So it's icy as **** out! But I'm just hardcore enough to go to work anyway...unlike the pussies who didn't make it in. lol
