i'm not worried about you... i'm worried about me :p

I may just stick with refinancing the srt and ordering the mustang and dealing with this process again when that comes in

DPancoast 08-05-2009 01:21 PM

Good approach if you ask me

DPancoast 08-05-2009 01:24 PM

Better hurry on the cash for clunkers... They're shutting it down cuz their out of money

russiankid 08-05-2009 01:26 PM

My brother bought a 2009 Scion tC last week. He first went to a Honda dealer to test drive a Civic. Well he has the same BMW as I do, except its a 535i and has been properly repainted. Anyway, first things the salesman sad was " Cash for clunkers program?"

HickRocket1258 08-05-2009 01:30 PM

And I don't think you are able to trade in for the Mustang. Could be wrong but don't quote me. I can't see myself owning anything but American, so it looks like I'll stick to the ****ty gas mileage haha.

Oakes 08-05-2009 01:39 PM

I own american and get awesome gas mileage

Scapegoat 08-05-2009 01:42 PM

does the vehicle need to be running for cash for clunkers? my truck is def not worth 4500... so i'd take that in a second lol

right, and you don't know my credit history either, which they do. :) I could afford both this car and my srt, rent, insurance, food, other bills and still have enough left over to chill with.

simple fact of this whole situation is, i don't have 8g's sitting in the bank to cover the difference, otherwise i would. I'm going to talk to the credit union about refinancing the srt and giving me the auto loan.

that would drop the monthly payments on the srt to something easily more manageable and potentially give me a winter car, and i can pay it off quicker with the other cash i've got coming in.

i've got a buddy willing to loan me a couple grand if i need it... gotta work something out since i'm so damn close. worst case, i'll just refi the srt and order the mustang and pick it up in 3-4 months

I don't gotta know your info. Bottom line, you have to borrow money just to borrow more money. Thats got DUMB written all over it. If you could afford it you would already have the car and posting how great it is, not how to try and get a few more bucks. Thats just my opinion though.

And few banks/if any are going to let you REFI and then add another car loan on top of that right away.

I believe it has to be a car that you drive...so yes running.

Anythins is good compaired to the Lambo. I think the gass guzzler tax on that car is higher then the cash for clunkers rebate lol

Oakes 08-05-2009 01:45 PM

It is unfortunately, but the awesome factor far outweighs the downsides

HickRocket1258 08-05-2009 01:47 PM

Ken have you had the truck insured for a year, otherwise no you can't take it.

bottom line is, i can have 6k in a few months time... bottom line is, i don't want to wait. bottom line is, i'm willing to pay a little extra in interest on that 6k now to get the car now.

bottom line... the final outcome is the mustang costs me $505 a month... versus the $500 a month i put into the srt (more than is required, but i do it)

bottom line is, i wasn't 100% ready to buy and my credit obviously isn't 100% perfect and in shape to just get this car w/o worrying.

bottom line is, i don't spend the money unless i know i'm financially capable. the credit companies don't 100% know me or my situation... they see numbers and past mistakes that are no longer even close to being a factor because life was 300% different for me.

but seriously, whats the big deal? 6k personal loan and 29k auto loan still equals the full loan amount i was originally looking to get. on top of that, i pay off the 6k as soon as possible and i'm actually paying less over time anyway.

yup, i've had the truck for well over a year now. honestly, i don't want to get rid of it. a big thought in my head is forget the stang, refinance the srt and start saving for the 454 and trans to dump into it

the biggest frustration with all this is, i have the money and i'm responsible enough. but i was an idiot because i moved to hershey for a chick and stuck around when the relationship started to stink a couple months into moving in together

Scapegoat 08-05-2009 02:02 PM

i will thank you

DPancoast 08-05-2009 02:06 PM

Ken wanna race?

Scapegoat 08-05-2009 02:09 PM

if i get the mustang sure. i can't race the srt cause the fuel pump is going  trying to get rid of the car before i have to deal with that. i stutter at WOT... course, i was tuned for 18.5 psi and running 15-16 now... probably too rich

Is that where you live now? I've thought about moving closer into that direction. Might be able to work for the Hershey Park, the business part of it, none of the stupid booths and crap.

TROLL 08-05-2009 02:12 PM

What I don't understand, and I guess its cause I'm kind of the opposite... is how can someone have so much extra income but no substantial savings? Doesn't extra income turn into savings? I dont know... I have more savings than income but thats just something that has come with time.
Not asking anyone about their finances personally, but I feel like I hear this a lot from people and its hard for me to comprehend since I just dont operate that way... I guess some people just make a lot and spend a lot too? Or maybe they're still paying off debt from previous situations?

I dunno, the way I feel interest exists in order for me to earn it, not for me to pay it :). Mortgage excluded, of course (and some but not all car payments). Credit card debt though... pshhhh.

Erik 08-05-2009 02:13 PM

i spend like a mother****er. after putting away for bills. unfortunately thats how i dont save money. i go out to the diner with friends all the time, i drive a lot, and i have to fix **** for the car all the ****ing time. well, its not that i HAVE to fix them. i just like to replace what i can. Im always finding something that could be replaced. when i have a new car, im gonna be confused. i wont have to fix little odds and ends.

crazyduckme 08-05-2009 02:17 PM

Ugh... guess who's still at work. I decided not to go home... just cause I need the money. Blah.

I went to the Concord Mall. Found a pair of shoes I want (these awesome yellow flats) and the pair of shoes I'm getting my mom for her bday (checkerboard vans!). I got Chick-Fil-A for lunch and I am currently enjoying it as I type! :P

Still feeling drained/weird. Guess I'm gonna stay until 5 or 5:30 then go home to pass out.

How's everyone's afternoon going?

i spend my money... i'm getting into saving though, i had a little saved up... then i spent it on my tattoo... have some saved up now... gonna put it down on the mustang.

i'm bad with saving money... i went from making 24k a year and taking care of myself and my g/f at the time to making considerably more and living by myself.

i do need to get better at saving money :) but i want stuff... like a big ol' engine for my truck, new suspension, disc brakes, paint, etc... i get a little in the account, and i spend it. :o

but i don't have any debt, other than the srt and i always pay my **** on time and more than what i owe.

HickRocket1258 08-05-2009 02:23 PM

Haha thanks about the heads up Ken.

I don't make a lot of money at all. Make $11/hr now, but soon when my 3 months is up it should be at least $14-$16/hr with benefits pretty much paid for by company. I was like Ken. I used to love racing all the time last year, every weekend, one after the other. Then my dad got me to hit reality some and now I'm slowly saving for a house late next year. Luckily I started talking to an old friend of mine and I will be getting sponsors for next year to help me out a lot with racing. Going back to TROLLS question, you wonder if people look towards other things than just putting money into their cars.

HickRocket1258 08-05-2009 02:27 PM

My afternoon is going well Duck. Take it easy even though you are manning up and staying at work. I got Dentist at 4pm because he doesn't like the way my crown sits. Has to redo it.

jpalamar 08-05-2009 02:28 PM

I'm reformating my hard drive when I get home. Need Vista on one drive and windows 98 on the other. I have the urge to play some old school games.

Thanks, I'll try.

I haven't been to the dentist since summer of 07! I think it's about time I do that. I cleaning would be nice! I guess I need to get some dental insurance or something. I think I have dental, but nothing good. I'd like to get my teeth whitened for Christmas for my Birthday, but we'll see. It's expensive. I just love white teeth.

TROLL 08-05-2009 02:30 PM

Sure seems like lots of people spend all their cash on modding... but who knows. I know I've heard a few comments from people saying thats what I do, haha... not the case though.
What realllllly kills me though is people who mod on credit. Nice car with some fancy new wheels or turbo or whatever, and they're paying off a credit card just to have it (probably at 20% interest!).
Anyway, thanks dad for being annoyingly persistent about financial responsibility and investing.

And crazyduckme... every time I read your username I'm like... how did she come up with that? Is there a story...? Sometimes I say it slowly: crazy---duck---me. And the word duck often makes me think of the word f---, which totally transforms your username entirely, like you're a russian webcam girl or something.
Oh, by the way hi, I'm Bryan.

Erik 08-05-2009 02:33 PM

something like shes crazy, dad calls her duck, and her initials if im not mistaken?

/creeper

Scapegoat 08-05-2009 02:34 PM

i don't mod though... i just buy stuff...

anyway, apparently i was approved for the full amount by wachovia for a 36 month term for 650 a month  someone ****ed up... cause that isn't 35k... thats under 24k.... i told him i'd take that mistake

36 months should be over a grand a month... which i need to question why they feel better offering me a loan i can't afford monthly versus one i can afford over a longer term which equates to more money in their pocket

LOL hi Bryan! I'm Michelle. I'm not joking when I say most people say my name slow and replace the D with an F. When I created the name (back when I was 11 or 12), I wasn't thinking as I got older, people would joke about it so much! But it's all good! Kinda funny if i do say so myself! :)

Michelle- I definitely went shoe shopping during lunch too but only at marshalls. Skipped on a pair of Maddens that I might go back to buy later. Bought 2 other pairs and a really bright fun Roxy sweatshirt.

Oh man! We think too much alike! Must be a Michelle thing :P I didn't buy any shoes, but I really want these yellow flats I found. I have a pair of bright pink flats and I love them. My boyfriend calls them slippers, but they look nothing like slippers!! If I can find a pic of them, I will send them your way and you can tell me what you think!

I think once I buy 3 pairs of shoes this funk I'm in will go away. don't you think so?!
