That thing is a ford. That's the wrong brand!

you'll be seeing the car sooner rather than later if everything works out. They asked if i wanted any extra detail work done and i loled at them

HickRocket1258 08-04-2009 01:40 PM

Ken that would be a real good purchase. Those motors respond so well to mods. I would love to get one but the less sleak version of it and for it to be an auto.

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 01:42 PM

AC is off at work now... my balls are sweating off...

got a great deal on the car too, $500 above invoice and then $1000 rebate. only 8k for the srt... owe 11,880 on it... not a bad deal, just under 35k out the door. GT premium w/ the brushed rims i wanted.

TROLL 08-04-2009 01:58 PM

Wow, didn't know you were in the market to buy a new car... but thats cool. I'm gonna have to check it out in person to see how I feel about the color, but I saw a '10 (thats weird to say/type) on the road yesterday and it caught my eye for sure, its a definite improvement from the previous body style.

HickRocket1258 08-04-2009 02:02 PM

Ken the first mod you need to do for the car is gears. Is it going to be your fun car or daily? If just fun car go 4.10s and you'll see a huge improvement on acceleration.

Oakes 08-04-2009 02:04 PM

Sounds good Ken! They sound great too and I love the looks over the 05-09

color is great in person. but it does need some black to break it up. I plan on going with a mach 1 decal "set up" at some point and louvres on the rear glass

here is a rendering...

http://www.highperformancestangs.com...1&d=1230840047

though the color here is darker than the actual grabber blue

I'm always in the market for a new car... but i don't look seriously because i know my credit situation. i go every 6 months or so hoping to get lucky but never getting my hopes up. hopes are up now though... must have this car.

it'll be a daily... but it'll be made more fun :) exhaust and headers may be the first couple of things i buy since they, combined, come in around a grand.

Oakes 08-04-2009 02:16 PM

Those are the same wheels that were put on the Grabber Blue GT I did for that auto show, they look great on it

HickRocket1258 08-04-2009 02:16 PM

I don't know what headers or exhaust you are looking at but they will defniately go more than a grand especially if looking at long tubes. Then you will need a short x or h pipe as well, with or without cats. You might be able to find all that for a grand, but I highly doubt. Looking more around 1200-1500, if not more. That's before install if you aren't doing it yourself.

i'd do it myself... 1200-1500 isn't bad

Yeah it isn't too bad for complete exhaust. It all determines the brand you are looking at. Like for mine, long tubes can go from 300-800. It's all in the name. They say long tubes for mine at least take about 6 hours for an experienced person.

DPancoast 08-04-2009 02:24 PM

Good luck with it Ken

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 02:30 PM

i can't imagine getting turned down for financing from the credit union after being told "i don't see why ford can't get you financing" and the bank saying, "something is wrong at that dealership"

who knows... fingers are crossed. hoping to pick this up tomorrow... i should at least know by then whether its a yes or no

DPancoast 08-04-2009 02:38 PM

Lol they're scared because you don't look like a mature older dude having a mid life crisis

yeah, god forbid a younger dude comes in with a good job and a few minor issues on his credit from getting through some bad times.

russiankid 08-04-2009 02:55 PM

Ken...mature? Hahahahahahahahahaha

piku 08-04-2009 02:57 PM

No seriously, that's true. My friend tried to get financing from ford on an 09 vert (not a GT) and they completely screwed the pooch and he ended up going with a home equity loan through his mom.

russiankid 08-04-2009 02:59 PM

I just took out a school loan so I won't be buying any cars any time soon.

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 03:06 PM

if sam can get a loan w/o a job, i should be able to get a loan with one :p

school loans are different. they give them to just about anyone because you cant ever claim bankruptcy on them.

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 03:09 PM

maybe i should apply at harvard and get a school loan and buy a car with it

crazyduckme 08-04-2009 03:09 PM

I never had any school loans.

When you get a loan, it goes directly to the school. If you don't get a student loan, then its like getting a regular loan.

so... what you're saying is... get a job at harvard in the admissions and payments office... and steal a little bit of everyone's school loan to pay for teh car... brilliant!

HickRocket1258 08-04-2009 03:16 PM

Sounds like an interesting plan to me haha.

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 03:28 PM

i love having common sense...

Credit union guy couldn't read the vin off the faxed bill of sale. i called Ford and left a message about getting it but thought i'd try the website... and got the vin... something tells me i won't find out about this tonight though

Scapegoat 08-04-2009 04:07 PM

Well if you get into breaking the law, you might as well just rob a bank. Quicker and easier.

I don't know your credit situation but he for some reason didn't apply with credit unions so I would say applying at 3 places helps your case out quite a bit. It'll definitely be a cool acquisition though my particular lust is for the GTO's.
