havent really had the time to do my research and shop, and i trust him... And since he already has the gun i figured this would be a "two birds one stone deal"

Anybody want to go to the range with me this afternoon? I'm headed to the Firing Line in Whitehall in a little bit.

Here is some good news regarding gun owners rights in PA. I hope that it eventually becomes law:

On Tuesday, May 25, the PA House Judiciary Committee successfully passed HB40, Castle Doctrine legislation, which will now head to the House floor for consideration. The committee also defeated three anti-gun bills (HB1043, HB1044 and HB1045).
House Bill 40, sponsored by State Representative Scott Perry (R-92), would permit law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their homes and any places outside of their home where they have a legal right to be. It is clearly stated that there would be no “duty to retreat” from an attacker, allowing law-abiding citizens to stand their ground to protect themselves and their family. HB40 would also protect individuals from civil lawsuits by the attacker or the attacker’s family when force is used.

**** YEA! No one should be forced with the "duty to retreat" from an attacker in their own home. They should be able to defend it with any means necessary.

Hell. Yes.

rodder 05-26-2010 01:43 PM

YES! Nice job to everyone who contacted their reps and helped finally get castle doctrine out of committee. Still has a long way to go before it becomes law but with as many co-sponsors as this bill has I don't see how it won't at least make it to Rendell's desk by the end of the year. Hopefully that jackass signs it, but there's also the possibility of overriding his veto in such a scenario.

He was at my job last week. I should have had a little sit-down with him.

Drftpretty 05-26-2010 02:27 PM

I need a GSG 5 but cant pull the trigger on spending that much on a .22 clone when I can have a AK instead.

rodder 05-26-2010 02:40 PM

I got mine for $420 including tax and PICS fee. You can find AKs for a similar price, but they're not gonna be very pretty, to say the least.

If I was only allowed to choose one or the other, of course I'd take the $400 AK, but I needed something fun and cheap to shoot and the GSG-5 fills that niche perfectly. Plus I already have something to use as a SHTF rifle.

You should have kidnapped him and brought him to the secret underground TST interrogation chamber.

Munky 05-26-2010 03:00 PM

I almost sold my GSG-5 because I wasn't shooting it as much as I had hoped. Then I took it out for a few hundred rounds and remembered why I bought it in the first place. LOVE IT!!!!:supz:
