girls don't propose... they either nag you about getting married, give you an ultimatum, or get pregnant

russiankid 07-28-2009 10:53 AM

the horrible part is that it's true... and usually consists of two of the above

russiankid 07-28-2009 10:55 AM

I get out of bed at 10 and go downstairs. I grab the cooler from last night to drain it, open the door and get a sudden rush of heat on my face.

Oakes 07-28-2009 11:00 AM

I hate sticky heat, this is why I wanna live in Arizona. Yesterday my hands were sticking to the damn laptop as I sat on the porch

russiankid 07-28-2009 11:00 AM

Well I honestly think it's just the nagging part. If you're with a woman long enough, she wants to know why there's no real commitment. Hints are nice, but nagging is annoying.

This is the sad truth.

russiankid 07-28-2009 11:05 AM

I actually have to clean my room today...ugh this is going to suck.

Scapegoat 07-28-2009 11:05 AM

how is marriage a "real commitment"? better question... how is not getting married not a real commitment?

Oakes 07-28-2009 11:07 AM

I'm gonna clean my room too haha, I just want to.

I have very low intentions of ever getting married, all my toys are belong to meh

Scapegoat 07-28-2009 11:09 AM

marriage = "i'm going to stay with you so you don't take half of everything i own in case we end up hating each other in 5 years"

russiankid 07-28-2009 11:09 AM

I eventually want to get married but I have to be with her for at least a year before I even think about it.

DPancoast 07-28-2009 11:13 AM

I'd like to get married in the upper 20s honestly

Many people argue about this all the time. In the movie "He's Just Not That into You" 2 characters have been dating for 8 years and the woman is just getting tired of him not wanting to get married. He never believe in it. They broke up because of it... then he realized he really did want to spend his life with her and wanted to keep her and make her happy so proposed. Marriage is the symbol of lifetime commitment. The ring on your finger is telling people that you are taken forever (well in most cases, unless you're stupid and cheat).

Women and even some men love the thought of marriage. I know I am one of them... and I can't wait to get married. I was one of those little girls who dressed up in white and played Marriage in the basement with my friends. LOL. It's just a nice feeling being loved and wanting to share your life with someone.

I could go on and on and on about all this... but you guys will probably not agree with me in anyway.

Scapegoat 07-28-2009 11:14 AM

i won't make it before i'm 30

i'm just a little confused as to why you would break up with someone you want to spend the rest of your life with because they don't want to get married, but still loves you unconditionally.

i'm not saying i don't want to get married... but logically... why throw something away for a title?

DPancoast 07-28-2009 11:20 AM

Lol totally freaked out since Michelle and I just watched that movie the other day.

I can't wait to get married

She broke up with him because she was unhappy. She didn't think he really wanted to be with her since he wouldn't take the next step. I mean, if I was with someone for 8 years, I'd want to know why he hasn't asked me yet. Ya know?

I'd like to get married in the next 3-5 years. Maybe even sooner. I want to have kids while I'm still kinda young.

HickRocket1258 07-28-2009 11:23 AM

I was thinking of that movie as well. I know what you are going to say for watching that movie haha. One of the first movies I saw with the gf in theatres when we first started dating.

The movie was pretty good, but I think I enjoyed the book much better. I think I'm going to rent it again and watch it. I saw it opening night in theater... so it's been a while.

PoorMan'sR 07-28-2009 11:23 AM

i don't plan on getting married till i have a real job and im all done school, that leaves me with like 8 years left....hell yes

ASIAN JUL 07-28-2009 11:24 AM

That's smart. Good idea.

I'm done with school. AND I have a job. So I'm ready. now the boyfriend just needs a job! :P

HickRocket1258 07-28-2009 11:29 AM

Hahah yeah havnig a job would be a pretty big thing you'd need. My girlfriend and I are looking at houses randomly. We know we both can't afford it but we also don't want to waste money trying it out with an apartment. It's fun to look.

crazyduckme 07-28-2009 11:30 AM

I love house hunting. :)

Oakes 07-28-2009 11:31 AM

^same. I can't wait for the first bachelor party

DPancoast 07-28-2009 11:31 AM

I just need to get as far out of debt as possible. I'd like to make it so I don't have a suga momma lol... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yeah, definitely a good idea for sure.

I'm a bride's maid in my best friend's wedding on September 12! I'm so excited for her and her fiance. We met in college and were roomies all 4 years! :) I'm so happy for her. My boyfriend is coming to the wedding with me and this will be his FIRST wedding ever. So crazy! I've been to quite a few weddings, but none of my friends. I think my bf is a little jealous I walk down the isle with some random dude. awwww. <3 how cute. LOL.

DPancoast 07-28-2009 11:34 AM

My bachelor party, wedding and reception will be as big as possible. Even if it's just renting a huge park, inviting everyone and asking them to bring food/drink and just have an awesome day

ASIAN JUL 07-28-2009 11:35 AM

Weddings are so rigoddamndiculously expensive. I wouldn't mind getting married in a court house for that reason, lol

crazyduckme 07-28-2009 11:39 AM

My father told me that he has a "Wedding Fund" in his bank just for me! :) He said he'll give me a certain amount and if I want anything over that, I have to pay for it myself. He's such a nice man. I wonder if Brandon's parents will pay for the Honeymoon. Hmm....

PoorMan'sR 07-28-2009 11:39 AM

Anyone see the hangover? well thats gonna be oakes, namdoog, and im the one they're gonna lose

russiankid 07-28-2009 11:41 AM

"There's a ****ing tiger in the bathroom!"

HickRocket1258 07-28-2009 11:41 AM

Yeah I heard weddings are pricey. I've never been to one and I'm 23. My gf is a year older and has been to a few. Anyways I have no idea where I was going with this. I want to be going to AC or something like that for a day or two. That would make it for me. Drinking and gambling are fun things to me.

exactly... weddings are stupid expensive. i'm going as cheap as possible... especially the reception part. the party bit i wouldn't mind going all out... spend a few grand on an open bar and just celebrate.

my buddy said his is looking at coming in around 20-25k... his fiance's parents are giving them 10k for the wedding... but still... what a waste of money. take that 25k and go on the most amazing vacation of your life. find a place that charges 1-2k a night and go for a week or two.
