View Full Version : Oakes Detail: AMF Racing S2000 *Day pics added!!!*

A full week long detail, done by myself, of AMF RACING's S2000. Out of the 400+ pics I tried to find a good bit that really showed the full effect of the detail. Try and keep this as descriptive and organized as possible!

*The detail did not require a week, however it was very beneficial having the time to perform the tedious job*

Process:
Full wash and Clay
Menzerna Intensive Polish
-Porter Cable, orange pad - 4 hours
Menzerna Final Polish
-Porter Cable, white pad - 2 hours
Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze
-hand applied -cured overnight
Optimum Opti-Seal
-hand applied -cured for 4 hours
Collinite's No. 845 Insulator wax
-hand applied -cured for 3 hours.
Rewashed

Dam that looks great!! Nice work!! I shoulda brought you my 240 with daves car. That'll show what a detail will do to a car, cuz mines a bit dirty all the time, 500 foot stone driveway ftl!!

They are but my only complaint is the convertible top/hardtop. I'm not a fan for the cloth top, but the hardtop on these cars looks good but still looks awkward IMO.

I'm the furthest thing from a convertible fan, but I would buy one of these in a heart beat. I've driven a LOT of different verts and this is my favorite.

Lucky you didn't get it today either....water main broke on the street by my house, roads were flooded so my already dirty car got dirtier haha. They just got the water cleaned up around 2-3 am and it's just mud now :mad:
