My car is parked in my driveway, up against the garage and today I came out to find a bright orange "VIOLATION" sticker on my window. It said "Call the management office , No inspection stickers, license number recorded. Subject to towing and impoundment.".

Now my car is against my garage, up my 20 foot driveway so someone came up my driveway to look at my inspection stickers? I just bought my car and I didn't get it inspected yet, and have an appointment for friday.

My question is, can they legally tow my car? I mean I own my house, no rent, and I pay a 185 a month association fee. Technically the driveway is private property of mine. And if not then what can I do if they tow my car and they either damage it or someone breaks into it?

The association will have the answer for you I'm sure... they'll either be able to reference it in the rules or they wont. Call them...

Oh my bad... I didn't realize this was in the Ask The Law section... woops. While I'm responding again though I'd assume that the rules governing that are dictated entirely by the association agreement that was agreed to when the home was purchased. I'll stop posting now though, sorry again...

Unless you signed some agreement with them they can't come onto your property and do anything to your car. I'd call them and get the definite answer, if a tow truck shows up call the police.
