Does anyone know if HKS makes a silencer for this exhaust? There are holes in the muffler tip for a silencer, but I don't know if they actually make one since it didnt come with one. I called HKS, but theyre closed bc of the SEMA show. I need one by Sunday to race in the Warminster Auto-x, so I dont have to take it off and put on the stock axle-back. If anyone has any info (if they make one, where i can get one if they do) I would appreciate the help.

they probably make a universal silencerthat would fit that exhaust

for the one day that ive had it, i like it. but its louder than i thought it would be. i probably shouldve waited until after the auto-x before i installed it, but everyone knows how it is when you get new parts, you have to install them asap.
gorilla- do you know where i could get a universal one from?

HKS exhausts arent really that loud on WRX's boxer motor.

why would you need the silencer for the auto x?

the auto-x is at warminster park. this park is basically inside of a 55+ community. therefore they have a 95dB limit

This rule stands. They will take samples during your first run and if it exceeds the limit they will ask you not to go again.

wow, thats nuts never heard of a noise limit at an auto x.. the hks is not that loud. if you fail the test half the people going willl too. including me if I make it.

i would rather just have the silencer in case the exhaust goes over the 95 db level. i wouldnt want to get there and not be able to run bc of something as simple as that. and if other people cant race bc of their exhausts, i might win the novice championship!
btw, does anyone have a db meter that we could all use before the race to alleviate this whole issue?

they booted people last time and they will do it again. if you have a moderate volume exhaust you should be fine but if you're exhaust is undeniably loud, you better come up with a solution or you will be sitting on the sidelines at the auto-x... i just want to make sure everyone knows to take this rule seriously.
