Someone said I drive to much and just today after buying the sti 5 months ago have put on 9,001 miles today. Is that as high as people think it is? I guess what is the average a year, since this is my DD and fun car.

I did that when I first got my MR2. I think I did like 8k in 6 months or something like that. It was insane. It'll die down... for me it did.

I usually hit around 15k a year or so.... but thats driving to/from RI a few times a year, to from Boston a lot, and a 60mi/day commute to work.
And I still have nothing on you. Damn dude.

I've been sub 5k/yr for the past 3 years. Emissions exempt :) I really don't drive much at school.

At that average of 9000/5mo the annual milage would be 21,600 (9000/5 X 12)
...well above average but not unheard of by any means. I remember when I got my first car I put 3000 miles on the first month.
First couple years of owning my Supra I put ~15k/yr on it. Now that it's not my DD, last year I put 5k on it; my '07 RAV4 has 26k on it now.

I think since I owned my truck, I have put on about 4-5k miles at most. I don't drive anywhere that much, and when I do, its only to school and back so yeah.

Well I used to drive 350 miles a day to work plus whatever miles I did after work and on weekends for a good 4 months. Im pretty sure thats where it came from and now its only 11 miles a day. I got the car with 36,000 and now am at 45,001 but the way I am looking at it I bought car for $21,000 with 36,000 miles on it and for $21k with 36,000 miles on it is really good and I have only seen STI's in the 45,000 mile range going for $21k, so technically now I should care.
I thought about getting a DD but I plan to drive this then trade it in when its in the XXX,XXX range (the turbo will be replaced at 60k)

i've put close to 50K on a car in a year in the past...
it all depends on your lifestyle really, i worked and went to school an hour from home then.
but... i've had the vette just over a month and put nearly 5K miles on it already.
some of us just like to drive i guess.

8K miles in 8 months of owning the Supra, and that is with a DD :) It was even stored in the winter. Why buy a car that you're just gonna stare at?

I think I put over 15,000 miles on in the first 6 months of owning my Jeep. Since July, I only put on about 2-3k. Gas costs too much for this thing.

thats not a whole lot, i think the yearly avg went up above 12k now actually. but like marshallpre1 said, you didnt buy it to stare at it. Unless its going to be a collectors item or something i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Low average 12k a year high average 15k a year. I used to drive 50k a year.
When I worked at Acura we would have sales consultants that worked the East coast that would be doing 100k a year. It all depends on what you do.

idk if the the wheels were stuck together in the odometer or what but I remember getting my first car, an escort. When I got it, it said 183k, when I junked it about 6-7 months later, it said ~225k. idk if thats even possible in 6 months....

January 28, 2009 will be 2 years for my WRX.. and I'm now well over 43K miles...I'm glad there have been no major issues putting miles on it so quickly.. but OTOH, I'm pissed cause it'll likely be dead before it's paid for at this rate...

I put a little over 10k on my old jeep in the 5-6 months that I owned it. Thinking back on that, that was a ****load of gas. Right now I'm only driving like 300-400 miles a week.
