dont let other people make a decision on wether or not a job fits you. Try it out and see for yourself!

i agree man, try it out. the worst that could happen is you work for them for a month or two and realize that it's not something that fits you.. so you work your ass off while you're there, leave on good terms, and come out with a good reference from a gigantic company.

it's a win-win. you never know, you might just enjoy the position, even with it's crazy hours. plus, working for Pepsi has to have some pretty cool perks and will probably pay pretty well.

ya thats what i was thinking i dont mind the working long shifts is the 7 days a week thing that kind of bothers me i was reading in forums that alot of people have to work 7 days a week for like 5 years that you you have to seniority to get off on saturdays they dont really give that much info about it on their though so thats why i postred here to see if anyone has any

well how'd the interview come about? did you just randomly apply or have you been looking for this kind of position? if you've been trying to get your foot in the door for a certain career that's similar to the job you're being interviewed for, it might even be worth it to tough it out and work the 7 days and crap hours even if it really sucks.

like i said it's a big ass company that is certain to guarantee a good reference if you stick it out for a while. sometimes even taking a sh*tty job and working like crazy will pay off with a big raise or position jump a year or so down the road. you're sure not stuck with it either.. a big company like Pepsi is probably used to being used as a stepping stone for people to move on to bigger things.

other than that, i can't offer any advise. i haven't heard anything about the position you're applying for.

was a merchandiser for coke for about four months. I failed out of school my first year of college and started working there. Honestly never had a weekend off, but did usually have off tues thurs or tues wednes because fri sat sun are big days for product. I normally started everyday at either 6 or 7 am having to be at my first store by then and was usually done around 4 or 5 each day except for big weekends like labor day 4 of july and memorial day and on those weeks/weekends i would put in 12 to 15 hours a day. Now I dont know what store you would be given or anything so that really depends on how your day goes. Honestly its tough work moving 12 packs and those racks of 2 liters you have to be really careful about your back. Also it wears you out or at least me it did I would go to work come home and sleep and on my days off I would sleep. I made great money though and I know coke offers some good incentives for good workers like the guy that was training me in was given a PsP for being a good worker this was back in 2005 and they first came out, there is alot of opportunity to move up in the company as well. Anymore questions you can Pm me.
I say go for the job you'll work hard but its worth it. I dont work there anymore cause I now work for my dad full time.

merchandising is basically a supermarket or store buys your product, your job as a merchandiser is to meet the truck at the store help unload it, fill the shelves and coolers, sometimes vending machines, build displays, condense all the back stock and move on to your next store.

I was with coke for four months and never worked 7 straight days now this was three years ago. If I wanted a saturday off my boss told me that I could go in friday night at midnight and do my stores then.

88turbocrx was a merchandiser, he made good money and this guy never worked 10 hours that i can recall. we used to make fun of him saying it was a cake job. i gave him a hand a few times and it def was cake, plus he used to get free soda all the time. BONUS!!!

i was a merchandiser for pepsi co. i worked there was i was 18 (23 now). I had fun doing the job, driving around to different stores all over pa, nj. I met alot of cool people while working, LOTS of hot girls working at supermarkets. The job itself was def not easy, YOU WILL WORK HARD! Alot of heavy lifting, waking up early, i use to start at 5:30-6:00am. Also, you will incounter alot of jerk off store managers, and dum rules like not being able to take pallets of soda onto the floor. meaning you have to break down pallets of soda, put them on a hand truck and push them out, DUM! lol. I made very good money, when i was 18 i was taking home about $1300.00. But, the downfall is i worked 13-14 hours a day, driving all the way out to Hatfield, or even farther. Yes, you will be working weird days, like you will work the entire weekend Friday-Monday, and have off Tuesday-Thursday. So, no really partying on the weekend, if ur not 100% you day will seem twice as long and your quality of work will...suck.Most of my time was spent driving, and waiting on late loads making it to the stores. I cant stress enough have much lifting there is, thoes 2 liter, 12pack, and Cubed soda displays that you see when you walk in the supermarket DONT BUILD THEMSELVES! also, you have to remember you are the bottom of the Pepsi totempoll, if you **** up they will fire you right away, and dnt steal soda the manamgment are always watching!........id do it if i were you, but im not. BTW good luck
