The PO of my VW did the inner wheel bearings but never got around to the outers. I have no idea why.
I went today and picked up some new outer bearings and was just wondering if I need a press to push the outer bearing into the rotor. I know I need a press for the innner.
Thoughts?
Thanks guys!

there is no need to press this outer bearing. it just sits right on its races. the (crown or castle) nut , what ever you call it,keeps the bearing in. make sure when u torque it down to specification. turn the nut back a quarter turn. the torquing process just seats the bearing in. after that you have no problem.
Don't forget about that cotter pin

well I did the job, a press was needed for the races but I just inspected the ones that were in and packed the nice new bearings with grease and re-installed.
Thanks!
