Well it was nice, then it got cold as hell out of nowhere. Damn Cold Fronts FTL.
Just took a few pictures, picked up a Canon Powershot S3 IS. Need to learn the ins and outs of photography, but love this damn camera. Tigawoods (mike) or Lagos (art), wanna give some lessons and pointers on color filtering and photoshop?!?

they look pretty good. They seem to be a bit dark though. you could try bumping up the iso(if you can) and/or using a slower shutter speed(if you can) shooting in manual mode will help you out in those low light situations.

Nice shots Tim. Your going to love that camera. Ive taken some really nice shots with mine in the past. Its a really good starter camera to get you into photography, while still having the ease of use of a point and shoot.
As far as photoshop goes, just play around with some color temp, saturation, brightness and contrast. A few small tweaks in the right places can go a long way.

YES PLEASE,
i realized my ISO setting was high instead of auto on some. With the stand i just realized i need to have it lower for clear settings. Mike, give me some basics and then i can experiment from there.

I have a Canon PowerShot S2 IS (previous model). I usually have mine set in the Av mode. I've started messing with carrying a white 3"x5" card with me so I can set the white balance manually instead of having it on the Auto mode. Sometimes on the auto mode, stuff will be pale, or have a slight blue hue to it. Shooting in the basement which has fluorescent lights makes pics have a green hue. If I use the manual white balance, it gets rid of it.
ISO is usually set to 200... sometimes when I'm taking pics I put it to 400... never used a pod and set it lower yet. On 400 it gets grainy if lighting conditions aren't good.
I have effects always off... you can mess with that if you want. It also has a low sharpening effect... but I'd rather do that in Photoshop if needed. I mess with flash settings if needed.
I have it set on M1 (2048x1536).
Overall, its a nice camera and has taken a LOT of abuse. I've had it up at the local resort and never use the bag. Its had some snow on it, its been dropped a few times, has scratches. The Panorama feature is very nice also.
Below are some links to pics I've taken messing with the settings in the camera. I'm still an amateur but IDK, I might pick up a better camera and mess with it sometime.

Thats a great tip! Im going to have to try it out with my s3.
This is a good example of how its not all in the camera, but in the person using it... .

Great tips and awesome pictures. Mind if i use that garage lol?!?!? I have it set to its largest file size as of right now and auto ISO since i dont have time to pop out a stand, and am worried about taking a blurry picture. Cannot wait to take some better shots from the plane ride home!
Tiga Mike......the more info the better.
