Check out the numbers that C&D ran (and they ALWAYS run faster than others)...but if those averages are valid, than this is a bit faster, and a bit less lame than the general auto public has labeled it. It seems like the IS-F was so caught in research and development (sorta like the GTR) that when it came out with less hp and seemingly bland styling (unlike the GTR) that people turned away. But the 8 speed tranny helps it out immensely...

as long as the is-f does nothing but squeel tires around laguna seca, im not interested

I'm not interested either; it's still not going to beat the GTR, and Lexus is widely known for it's lack of driving feel and response. Obviously that changes with this, but you have to look at things relatively too.

Other than the fact it connects the driver to the machine in dialogue? I couldn't tell ya; obviously this helps the car (the Lexus I mean), but it's really not going to discount the fact that it prolly won't dent its competition, especially with a new RS4 coming out since this run has ended. The German's don't like waiting around to get **** done.

so how many of them are overdrive?

Probably 2..which means there are 6 acceleration gears. I have to read up more on it obviously, but that's normally how it works.

Yeah I guess thats better than most Lol

Absolutely, and i'm sure the timing is awesome. But you can't feel a lick of it, so as long as there are cars out there with similar performance and proper transmissions- why bother with this, especially knowing it'll be topped within 2 years?

How much does this thing cost? All those numbers are slower than the E46 M3 which came out in 2001.

The E46 M3 ran to 60 in 4.2 seconds?

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164157

B/c according to them, it didn't, therefore according to Car and Driver, and even some of the lower tests on that site, the E46 M3 is not faster.

i like it but wouldnt own it, i need 3 pedals.

id only own a car without three pedals if my left leg was severed off in some bear hunting accident.
and if that was the case the loss of a third pedal can only be made up by adding a second clutch disc to the trans (DSG)

ill be at audi if i ever run into that bear problem....

lol, and your E46 would lose.

And it would also lose to the C63, as does the current M3.

And btw, dawg, the E46's are nice cars, but each successive generation of M3 gets boringer and boringer.
