So this evening instead of drinking as I typically do on a Thursday night and therefore killing 20% of my productivity for the week (aka making me useless on Fridays); I decided to use the COMPLETE Turtle Wax Ice System and give a review. Disclaimer: It is NOT a traditional system - its main draw is ease of use - nothing beats the thoroughnesses of a TRUE detailing.

1) Turtle Wax Ice Wash - I can't say anything good or bad about it, it seems to be pretty typical car wash soap. Perhaps a bit thicker - it foams nicely and is easy to use - seems to be effective at getting pretty much everything off.

2) Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Clay Bar - This is getting towards the guts of the system- It definitely works as advertised - it goes on with a sponge like applicator and leaves an almost soapy residue (similar to what you use to lube a regular clay bar up). It goes a GREAT job. It isnt a full clay bar but it ceartainly smooths the point out nicely and removes some of the little bits of grime.

3) Back to Turtle Wax Ice Wash

4) Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Wax - The shine that two coats of this is amazing. It goes on like melted ice :P and leaves no white residue. Luckily it leaves enough of a finish that you can see where it has been applied. A light buff then a second coat and the shine that is as good as or beats any paste wax. I am concerned about the long time durability of it and think that it should probably be used every three to four weeks.

5) Turtle Wax Quick Detail Spray - I couldnt get a good feel for it because it isnt truly needed to be used directly after the wax but it goes on easily and wipes off without a problem - i can see it as a great way to maintain a shine between washes and waxes.

For the amount of time it took, ease of use, and results I am EXTREMELY pleased. It doesn't work completely as well as a traditional system but it gets damn close. Two Thumbs up

Two washes and two waxes in that period so i would say just shy of an hour and a half - for that amount of time DEF worth it.

Chaos - can i ask about your specific complaints about it?

ive heard several complaints about the clay bar being a PITA to work with, i dont trust the "wax" to do any actual protecting for any length of time... however the wash is good...

generally cheaper OTS products don't produce the results i want .. ie. great LONG lasting shine. alot of OTS stuff wears off fast IMO

I address all these points in my post!

The liquid clay bar was very easy to work with IMO - significantly easier and quicker than a traditional clay bar. However you certainly can't claim it to be as effective.

As for the wax - I generally view it the same way you do HOWEVER it is Polymer based so in THEORY it should hold up as long as old fashioned wax does. From my uses of the wax on its own before - it would hold up well for about a month /8 wash cycles (that is when i reapply - it may hold up longer, i dont know). Which frankly, IMO, is about how often you should be waxing anyway.

As I said and think you missed - for its purpose ( a QUICK system) it is great but it is not a true/full detail.

i didnt miss it, i dont think it has a point... if you do a full detail with the better stuff, i think not only will it last longer, but it will look better and be easier to maintain... thats just my stance on it.

Got it - we are in agreement then - as i said in the first post this is not a TRUE detail. What I didnt say is that it is betwee ease of use and the quality of the results it is a great product to use between the BIG detailings.

i love the turtle wax stuff. i washed and waxed my car with it and it came out looking brand spanking new and it was easy as hell. def a must buy for those not looking to spend ours on a full detail

yeah the whole "Ice family" is made for quickness, the wax is really nice, i actually like it, but i have different waxes that i would use depending on the color of the car, but the spray detailer, is VERY good, quick easy and leaves a nice shine with no white residue. i have used alot of off the shelf waxes and stuff and this stuff here is very good 8 out of 10
