Are these the courses I have to take in NJ?

First Responder Class ::: 2 months
EMT-B Class ::: 4 months

I'm interested in becoming an EMT and I just want to make sure I have everything straight before I start to make a schedual.

you shouldn't have to take the first responder class, that's for tards that just want to get evoc and drive the ambulance but not do any real EMS stuff

4 months for EMT-B sounds right, you'll get your AHA CPR/BLS and be eligible to sit for the state test wich is really easy.

if you're planning to do it as a job, DONT!!! the pay sucks and you will be bored out of your mind, you'll NEVER get a job running 911 straight out of school, you'll have to run with a lame ass transport company and take old people to doctor apointments. if you're planning to do it for fun, you can always run with a volly crew and it's a lot of fun, but no pay

I thought CPR wasn't included in EMT-B class. Or at least that is what this site says: http://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/emtbqa.htm (scroll down to #15).

What's the hourly wage for an EMT job? I read that it was 22-28 an hour. That's fine for me. It's something just so i can further my education in medicine. I'm hoping to go premed soon.

This is so much more important than the "where the single ladies" thread.

weird, most courses incorporate AHA CPR in the course! 22-28 is high even for a paramedic, an EMT-B is looking at more like 10-13, usually lower than that if you work 24 hour rotating shifts
