looking for a new truck eaither quad cab ram 1500 with the hemi or a silverado 1500 with the 5.3, looking for anyones thoughts or opinions.
the ram gets better fuel mileage by 2 mpg, and its no gonna be modded or taken wheeling or anything occasional pull a trailer and haul normal household stuff

I like the ram all around better. My moms bf has the new quad cab that has the exhaust in the rear bumper....nice truck, he pulls a trailer occasionally no problem. And the dodge's sound better IMO

Ive owned a 2008 5.3L silverado Z71, and it was a great truck... I loved it - very comfortable, and the one thing you may or may not know. The 5.3L has a 4 cyl shutdown mode while crusing on the highway - once your above 55 mph for more than a mile at crusing speeds it will shutdown to 4 cyl. I had a Intake / magnaflow dual exhaust, and able to get 22 mpg highway / 12 mpg city - driving like an ass lol in stop and go every block traffic

cyl shutdown does not work if your doing 85mph dodging traffic left and right...

I'd get the dodge ram. Always liked them. Drove them when I worked at a rental company.

second that

Third that!

There is a reason Dodge has always been a distant third behind GM and Ford when it comes to truck sales.

I dont think i'd touch a gas powered dodge. the chevy will treat you better IMO

*DING!* Dodge only if you are going diesel.

I have owned several trucks over the last few years and I would have to say the most comfortable truck I owed was my 2006 Silverado. The interior was comfy and steering felt untruck-like(if thats a word)

I love the dodges. They are very nice trucks but if I would say a gmc if your going to gm. IMO they are nicer then the Chevys. I used to work at gmc dealer. They are sweet trucks.

my dad has the 5.3 avalanche. He is up to 150k miles and all he has done is the 100k tune-up and replace a fuel pump and a knock sensor other than required maintenance. His silverado before that had 260k on it with no problems. id go with the chevy or a gmc sierra. the sierra is a little sportier looking.

I have an ecoboost F150...I love it. I'd highly recommend driving one. It gets great gas mileage and moves out well. I've absolutely destroyed my buddies 5.3 silverado with it. My opinion is objective, and I think it's easily the best truck out of these three options. If the silverado was better, I'd gladly admit it, but GM definitely missed the boat on R&D during their bankruptcy period. Dodge...no offense to anyone...just makes a piece of **** vehicle.

Silverado. Several of my buddies have new Silverado's with the 5.3 as work trucks and no issues what so ever. One of them has an 08' with 100k on it already and hasn't done anything but oil changes and brakes. I personally have a 5.3L, but it is an 02. No issues with it, great truck.
