Where do you bring yours?
I know there was someone on here asking to take people's scrap.
Do you think it would be good to get my unemployed friend into this?

The one ive been to is off of Aramingo ave. Definitely worthwhile if your buddy is unemployed and has a truck. I brought about 3200lbs of computer waste (CPU's, printers, copiers) down to the scrapyard to toss and got almost $500 for it.

Check around as I know I'll get 5+ cents more a pound if I were to drive the 10mins into Trenton, or even closer up around the old Fairless Steel- I frequent Del Val Scrap in Levittown/Bristol, cause I'm lazy, it's very local to me. They are all out of the city, but depending on what your scraping and how much you may make a little more-

i have used http://www.camdeniron.com/?fuseaction=article.main&cat_id=30&object_id=7 they are along side the Platt bridge in South Philadelphia.
If you do decide to scrap metal, check the market prices on the internet so you know your getting a fair price.

agreed, prices change all the time not to mention you should figure out whats worth getting and not, ie copper you'll get 3x the amount for than alum.

If you get catalytic converters shop around. I'm a volvo specialist and I call around most places offer 50-70 bucks for the converter but there is one guy who comes around and gives me 150 for them so shop around if you have big ticket items
