Brett's '97 Prelude SH - Updated* nov.19.11

'97 prelude Sh.

Just got back from picking her up

Currently sits like:

Ended up purchasing a '97 SH for $4,000, this past thursday after my '91 came into a sudden and aggrivating halt, due to engine problems. So its gonna be getting put up in a friends barn for the next year or two and then after im through basic and i finally get stationed somewhere permanant. then i'll get the 91 shipped to where ever i am and i'll begin fixing it or just swapping an h22 in.

The '97 is mostly stock with 145k. on it. & has been very well taken care of previously by a honda mechanic. It has had most of the suspension parts upgraded or just oem replaced.

Besides the damaged pass. side door, its in pretty good shape for its age. Has the common red/pink fade, some scuffs on the front bumper and a few nicks here and there. Could really just use another good washing and a wax as he hadnt really done either for a while.

It came with a ton of tires and wheels. It has newer accord v6 wheels on it with good tires... He gave me 2 brand new un-mounted tires for the accord wheels... the original Sh wheels w/ semidecent tires & a set of steelies with good winter tires.

This will be more for most part now, a thread for me to ask questions to learn about the 5th gen, and maybe do a few little things here and there. After im out of basic i will prolly drop more rediculous amounts of cash on it.

Thanks man. Im gonna be picking up the new door from the last owner within the next few weeks.

& yeah theres a new guy rolling around town with a black one thats lowered with black wheels...& it was actually sitting at the mall today, there was a minty- white 91 that was sitting at my work, and theres atleast one other guy around that drives a white one but its kinda beat up.

End of story, im pissed i cant be driving my 3rd gen around right now, to be showing them how its really done.

Looks like a nice pick up. I just recently got a 5th gen to replace my auto 4th. I have only driven it a few times cause I am away at school but so far I love it. If you are looking to sell those wheels I might be interested. I only have the base swirls on now. Good luck with it.

Might sell them. not sure though. kinda mixed feelings about them. i think the car just needs dropped more with lower profile tires.

Got the pics to upload finally.

First couple pics are from the night i brought it home.

mmmm... hid's

Could obviously use some freshening.

The hood is sooo ****ed...

Decided i desperately needed to wax this fuggin thing. Took desperate measures not to end up with residue all over the mouldings. major peeve with me. I'll prolly add another coat in a week or two.

Hood looks a **** ton better, but its still got issues.. it still could use claybar'd as recomended by hondamonster.

not much herb. picked it up about 2-3 weeks ago. the '91 took a ****, didnt feel like paying someone to fix it so its getting thrown in a barn for the next year or two. Till im settled wherever i get stationed then i'll have it shipped there and either fix it or h22 swap it.

The new lude is my daily, which will eventually be getting modified further after im out of boot. As for now all i have been doing it cleaning up little things on it.

Love the car man. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Where the heck did you find this? I've been looking for a cheap 5th Gen FOREVER and haven't had any luck.

i was supposed to pick up the new door last week but the dude painting it was out sick for a few days. I got the call from the previous owner that it was done today & when i go down fri. for a party at my buddys im gonna be picking it up from the guy.

And no the wheels wont fit. the 91- is 4x100. the 97 is 5x114.3

& even though the wheels on my 91 are multilug pattern, the other pattern is 4x114. similar to a 240 i believe.
