Thank god. A corvette wouldn't be the same without a big ol V8.

Good one.

I have a book on the RX-7 and the give a nod to the Vette with the rotary.

It would have been interesting to see them build atleast some kind of small sports car with some kind of rotary to compete with Mazda. I would love to have seen the power they could have pulled out of it. I mean damn they developed a 4 rotor that was a 6.3liter!

I like it. Of course I also like the Pantera.

It would have been neat to see where GM would have gone with this motor, or any other rotary powered car.

A few other cars were "going" to come wiht a rotary as well. Mustang to name one... It would have been nice to have a few other comapnies putting R&D into the rotary engine. Maybe then it wouldnt be such a "mysterious" engine to the masses. All everyone who is not "in-to" rotary powered cars knows is "Up down = Best"... I honestly am proud of Mazda for what they have accomplished with it.

What's not to like?

I think they shouldn't have completely dropped the rotary, but it doesn't feel right w/ the 'Vette name attached to it...

I don’t know too much about this but I’ve heard they work very well as hydrogen powered vehicles. I think there was a hydrogen powered RX-8 (rotary) at the Tokyo Auto show.

Anybody know more about them?

I would like to be able to save the world when I’m 50, however, I would like to do it at 120mph in the left lane (and ¼ miles under 13 seconds.) Nothing against the Prius, but I like having fun.

Thanks,
