Dam dude relax, I wasn't saying anything about who would win in a race, although if that Chevette had wheelie bars I'll bet that he would stomp the piss out of that mr2, bigger motors = faster cars plain and simple.

Very true, but that's where the fun/skill begins if you have that much money dumped into your car
Personally I'll stick with spending a little bit of money but making up for it by turning the steering wheel a lot

Bigger motors do not mean faster cars. Way too many variables. I will say that there is no replacement for displacement. Sink 15k in a 4cyl motor. Sink the same 15k in a V8 and the V8 will win every time.

I think sinking 15K into a DSM shouldnt count. that would prolly be the main platform that would disprove that theory, granted ur sinking 15K with someone who knows what they are doing and what parts work

I bet I could do a 9.0 dsm for less then 15k or about, and still be able to drive it to the shore on the weekends lol. That would be a awesome challenge. A magazine should do that, but im sure they wont do something that could acually maybe prove the fact. Probably be a Subaru, or a 240 (no offence)

dsmlink: 700 clutch: 800 trans: 2000 built engine: 3000ish for something sick turbo set up: 1500 other odds and ends (intercooler, fuel, gauges, exhaust): 2000 if u buy top of the line **** suspension: 800 oh and then you need a dsm shell: 1000 for something nice thats puts you at about 12,000 im sure on a lot of things you could go cheaper and more expensive on other things, either way I can honestly see a 9 second DSM happening for under 10grand for somebody that would wait and buy used **** when they can.. buying a 400 dollar shell then picking up AEM instead of link etc etc.
