Help me! I'm trying to find a specific processor for my motherboard, and so far it seems impossible!

Needed: Intel Pentium D 950, 3.4GHz Dual-core, 2 x 2MB L2 Cache

While this may seem like a simple request, here's the catch:

It HAS to be a sSpec SL95V

sSpec is the stepping specification of the CPU, like a revision pretty much. SL95V is the latest revision for this CPU (formerly SL94P), and only this revision will work with my Intel board. Don't say my board sucks because its Intel, it's really really good, it's just very specific with these kinda things.

Can someone find a place that sells this revision CPU and link me up???? Newegg is dicking me around saying they don't have tech support and access to the warehouse, so they can't check the damn box for the spec...

yea, nothing on pricewatch. I actually talked to someone who bought the EXACT processor from newegg a couple weeks ago. He said he got the latest revision (which is the one I need), so I'm gonna take my chances. Just bought the processor today

sometimes you get lucky - like if you ordered a prescott when they first came out and got the good revision. Those things were overclocking monsters.

Go to a computer show and find a local shop that can get you exactly what you need.

the step model does show up in that auction. Also if you type in "Intel Pentium D 950 3.4GHz" on ebay there are alot more auctions with that same CPU.

Your best bet is find a local computer shop and make them empty their stock onto the counter for you. I did this with my celly 666 oc to 1ghz a while back. The store was fine with it as long as I had the cash to buy.
