My Ride:
2010 Nissan Cube SL

iTrader: (0)
So I bought a Nissan...

Finally sold my 03 Volvo XC70 and used the money to help buy a newer car. After being run around at half the local dealerships, I ended up at Bell Mitsubishi having a wonderful experience (not sarcasm). I ended up buying a 2010 Nissan Cube SL. It's the super JDM styling that made me fall in love with it initially and the very smooth ride, smooth engine and transmission, plus the amount of equipment for the price sealed the deal. So far I'm loving it. Don't have any plans as of yet. Last owner installed HIDs, a K&N intake and some aftermarket interior lighting.

Anyway, pics!

Here it is with my fathers Scion xB:

Yup, it's probably the most Japanese looking car sold in America currently. And I love it for that, it's quirky and different and I am pro quirky styling.

i prefer the juke or the h xb over the cube, but i think they both are all kinda silly looking. Nissan was bold on the cube styling with the asymmetrical design. If they didn't have the one rear driver side pillar, and it was completely blacked out around the rear, now that would be something i can get into.

None the less man, glad you like it and hope it treats you well. Looks clean and well taken care of.

I agree with going VIP, and maybe storm trooper that ish out, some new wheels would do wonders on that thing, and i bet they are super cheap for that size rim.

I always had a soft spot for the Cube. Good luck with it.

Thanks all, I know this isn't everyones cup of tea but being that I needed an economy car, lust after all things Japanese and am not in a position where an AE86 would be a smart choice, this was/is perfect for me. It looks like it was picked up from a street in Japan and put down here. That might be my favorite thing, though there's quite a bit to like after owning it for a day now. I dunno about the VIP styling, hell I'm not sure what I wanna do. An exhaust is pretty high on the list though since it already has an intake.

I'm so sorry I genuinely thought it was a window too. They did a good job of tricking people.

Gave it a good wash today inside and out. Aftermarket air filter is a bit tight to get on and off so I'll be going for a short length filter when it needs cleaning again. Penny pinching to get some rubber for my wheels too.

I know this may be just some FWD eco ****box to most people but I adore low output 4 bangers and economy cars, plus this is now the newest and least used car I've owned (4 years old/30k miles) so it still feels new. I'd like to get an exhaust to go along with the intake at some point this summer.

I respect your enthusiasm and I myself appreciate a nice basic I4 but I just would not go out of my way to get a cube. Reminds me too much of the Juke which IMO is the top 5 ugliest cars out there.

Eh, I didn't really go out of my way. Dealer I went to happened to have 2 of them. This one was the right color combo, optioned almost perfectly (wish it had the Nissan OEM aero kit), for less money and in better shape than anything else I was looking at. It ticked all the boxes (no pun intended) of what I wanted. The more I see and drive it though, the happier I am. I'll agree that the Juke is pretty ugly though, I dunno what Nissan was doing with that design.

Jokes aside, I rented a dark red Nissan Cube for a few days on a snowy weekend in February 2013. It was either the Cube or the Chevy Spark. I thought the Cube was better for snow so I chose that.

I was surprised by it. Sure the CVT was noisy, but the car handled okay, accelerated and braked fine, and got much better gas mileage than the EPA ratings. It also had so much space for luggage. Also, I drove it around at Penn State. Lots of students checked out the car.

In the end, I started to like the Cube, but I would still never buy one.

It's a car that grows on you the more you're around it for sure.
Nothing new to report. Just did a little photoshoot in front of an abandoned school by my house. Waiting on DMV documents and plates before mods start.

Plan is:
Wheels by the end of the month. Exhaust by the end of the summer. Strut bracing before winter.
