On Sale wants ANOTHER 240sx? What about the vee-argghh? **UPDATE PAGE 3**

Well i picked this thing up last night for $2,500. Has a few problems, the back bumper has a crack in it, the pass. window doesnt work and the rpm/speedo gauge doesnt work. But other then that, the car drives and runs amazing!

Those are just 2 quick pics i snapped last night at 711. I will have some more pics later today or tomarrow after a fresh detail and stuff.

Info:
1997 VW Vr6
115k Miles
Dark Green
5spd

Current Mods:
- Exedy Clutch Kit
- Nuespeed Intake
- Some cheesy rice-tastic muffler (doesnt sound bad but looks horrible haha)
- Unknown lowering springs.
- Drilled and Slotted Rotors

Planned to have done by March 1st:
- Black Forest tex rear Euro bumper
- New Gauge Cluster
- Replace pass. side window motor
- Do required mait. (plugs, wires, timing chain)
- New suspension, possibly coilovers.

So yea, picked up a nice Daily Driver i plan to do alot of maintenance to before i start modding it. Mostly gaskets, and current problems the car has. But im new to the VW scene so i gotta get used to these motors and setup these cars have.

the window not working is almost surely the regulator, they are very problematic. get in there and if its broken you'll see it. if so, get an oem replacement at one of the reputable vendors on vortex (i ordered from ECS and one other place, i forget).
good luck with the new car...

I recall reading that a Cabrio tach/speedo cluster will fit into the Jetta/Golfs....

Gonna go check my sources.

edit: doesn't work on VR6.

But here you could prolly use this anyways...

Check the suspension... its already sitting low, so it might already be a coilover kit of some kind

The window is prolly the regulators (common on Mk3, and sucks to replace). As for the gauge cluster, thats common too, but I dont know how to really fix that for good. My buddy would just smash into his dashboard a few times, and it would work again.

There is a VW meet at Barnes and Noble on monday nights usually. I don't go anymore, but I used to. Just thought you might be interested in meeting the local VW crowd.

Make sure the chains were done, and if not be sure to do them soon. My advice is go to vwvortex.com and do your research, theese cars can be great if maintained well. But on that site you can find anything you need, and pm me about the bumper if you want I can probably more then likely jut repair what you have and repaint instead of purchasing a new one.

Basically maintenance is first. Before any more mods. Returning the car to 100%. That includes, gauges, window, bumper, and some little wiring stuff i dont like. And im definetly cruising to waterfest this year. We should get a tst cruise to waterfest going.

The chains were not done. Its #1 on my list. Before any repairs or mods. Im getting new HG, VCG and the timing chains done. Just so i dont have to worry about it later on. and as for the bumper... its past repair. it has a peice the size of a hockey puck missing. its such an eye sore. but o well. it will be fixed soon enough.
