I also bought this...

It is a clean title shell in pretty good condition to swap the drivetrain of the salvage title white car into. Hopefully that can happen this weekend.

It is cleaner, and has a good top. The trunk has some rust on the inside, it must have been sitting outside with it open. Ill take care of that.

The wheels are heavy and definitely not the long term solution but will do the job.

Find one, there are good deals to be had.

I like the look of them, utilitarian IMO.

I've been looking for a decent one on and off for around 2 years. Everyone thinks what they have is worth a fortune, or is a clapped out drift rat.

Yup, the black car was a clapped out drift rat. They must be saved!

This happened this weekend (not OSHA approved)

Sassy pose for miata reasons!

The drive-train is ready to be swapped in to the good shell. I'm hoping to be back in business this weekend.

Engine Insertion

Well the engine is in the white miata shell now. All is well except it wont crank . The starter solenoid is not getting a signal. It cranks if I signal it from the battery. Sounds like a clutch switch issue or and ignition switch issue.

how to upload images to the internet

Apparently having a intact oil dipstick pull is rare...I broke it

upload full resolution photos

As soon as I get the starting issue figured out I shall be cutting fenders.

Glad to see old cars being saved, wish more people could do the same. I'm saying this as I bought a brand new truck 2 years ago....

Well, if your going to save a car a Miata is a good placed to start. Alot of parts around at good prices and they are easy to work on.

Small update. The white car is back on the ground and moving under its own power. It had a weird stalling issue, I'm wondering if the fuel pump or filter is on its way out.

I plan to do some fender cutting tonight so I can fit the big tires on the black car. Shocks should be here Thursday.

I hope to have at least one car autocrossing on sunday.

Fender trimming begins

This is my first time trimming fenders. It is not as enjoyable as I had hoped haha. I finally got the front drivers side fully trimmed, up against the bump stops on a stock strut, through the whole turning range there is clearance. The other side should go quicker since I kinda know what I'm doing now. Then its on to the rear which is a double wall fender

Some good, some ugly

Suspension is in

I cut the drivers side rear fender. I did a terrible job, hopefully I can get a flare that covers up that job. I cut past the chassis at the top of the wheel well preventing the inner fender from meshing nicely. O well, at least there's clearance.

I noticed the forecast change

I'll probably have a late night tonight and lots of miata things tomorrow. Many things like sharp edges to clean up.
