All right look man there lots of ways you can do this all right. Handbraking is the easiest so the first thing I want you to do, I want you to rip that E-Brake all right. After you rip that E-Brake then I want you to power over.

There are tons of places you can practice legally, they are called tracks. Clubloose night moves events are usually wednesday nights. Bring whatever RWD car you want with some drift spares, talk to other drivers, and when other drivers give you advice, listen. Summit Point in West Virginia has a skid pad, there is the Oval in state college, beaverun out in pittsburgh, and clubloose runs the show at Englishtown. We are damn stocked with tracks in this part of the country. As for cars to start out with... as long as its not your daily, anything really.

I've looked into a lot of drifting cars and I've decided miata or 240 but is there a cheaper alternative because now that drifting came into play everyone wants gold and a left arm for their beat up 240

Ive also looked into some e30's they seem to be a good bang for the buck but how are they with body roll and what basic mods would I need besides a nice suspension and some sway bars?

If you dont know what you want to start with - just buy a 240 and start driving. You'll learn more in one day of track time than any amount of time reading about it.

Drifting is not about driving like a pussy. Everyone started from scratch - go to night moves. My first time I sucked too.

Learning how to use the site's search function would have gone a long way, so would have looking at other posts in this section. Google will also work wonders in a pinch.

Look for a cheap e36. Make sure the motor and trans is solid and there's no rust in the rear subframe area. Sell all the parts off of it that you don't need. Weld the diff and make sure the ebrake works well.
There much cheaper than a 240 and IMO just as easy to drift

should be able to find s13s fairly cheap...i bought my 240s for cheap as hell just have to stick around the crowd......ive bought 2 s13s..my coupe was a steal @ 1500 and i bought my s13 hatch for 350 bucks....both with clean titles
but you were right about the inflation on 240s...people say they have a 240 and instantly think their car is worth over 3k and when you have an sr swap in it its automatically 5k but theyre all trashed.. you pretty much got to find something from word of mouth not on craigslist... as for drift cars find a rusty 80s corrolla fix it up doesnt need much to make that tin can slide around s13 a very well rounded car but heavy and large s14 even bigger than the s13 and the rear seats are smaller rx7 i like these a lot but never got a chance to actually slide with one fox body mustangs...are heavy as hell and handle like a bag of dicks but they sound hot as hell going around the turn sloppy as **** ive never owned nor drifted any euro car....no desire...its 10 times more fun ripping around a turn than drifting as far as drifting goes...its like big wings, body kits, or crazy looking wheels even though many will try only a few look good |

strut towers..and the lower rails are the 2 major spots for rust as long as their isnt any rail rust it should be worth it unless you know how to weld 8]
