Illegal Ticket, or so I thought

About a month and a half ago I got a speeding ticket. The officer mis-spelt my name, miswrote my registration number, and had listed me as driving a totorola vupra. I assumed this would get the ticket thrown out since as far as I was concerned this ticket blatantly said that someone who wasn't me, was given a ticket for a car that wasn't mine.

I was offered a plea down to 35/30, rather than 50/30 (it's on a street where the 50 changes to a 30 in between signs, so by the time you notice it's lowered, you're already getting a ticket).

I declined the offer, and decided to go to trial.

The judge asks if I've talked to the prosecutor, and say I have. He then proceeds to ask the prosecutor what the outcome was. He explains I didn't take the agreement. The judge then tells me I should reconsider because despite the ticket havin my registration, name, and car model lwrong, I was going to be found guilty no matter what, and my options were to exit the situation with either 3 or 6 points. UGH.

I don't know how they can get away with that, but with no real appelate court for traffic what other option did I have but to take the 3.

Becuse YOU came to court and YOU were driving the car! The police officer can mis spell thats a human error and can be ammended by the court. You should have taken the deal since the both the Judge and the Prosecutor told you too! Next time don't try to be slick.. sounds to me like everyone was tring to give you a hint good thing you got with the program. I hope you learned something
