okay so i just picked up a daily driver that need to be inspected this month. It has a small knick in the windshield. its not a crack its just like a chip about 10 inches right of my rear view mirror? will that fail my inspection and if i go to the state DMV (free in NJ) and they fail me do i have to return there to get a inspection sticker or can i take it somewhere private? i know a place that will pass me but im trying to get the car inspected for free instead of paying $75

you may pass, if not after you fix it you can still get free inpection if not you can pay for a private inspection

okay, see i was told if you fail inspection at the state dmv you HAVE to go back to them after you get the problem fixed. Apparently that is not the case?
