S14 wheel fitment question...

So I think I've decided on the Rota P45r's. Yeah, theyre rota's... but theyre sexy rota's. I think ive picked out the sizes I want.. the thing I need some help with is offset and tire sizes.

The sizes I'm thinking of are either 18x9.5 all around, or 17x9.5F (or 9"), 18x9.5R. When you ask most 240 guys about offset, they always push the lowest offset possible. Thats cool and all, and it looks great, but Im not all about the stretched tire look. I'd like to be able to fit some meat in the back.

The 18x9.5's come in +12, 20, 25, and 30mm offsets. Id think the 20 or 25 offset would still have decent concavity while allowing me to run like a 255 tire with no more than a roll? The car wont be going super low, just low enough that it doesnt look ridiculous.

For the fronts, I'm really not sure about. I dont plan on running coilovers (springs and shocks), and Ive read that that can affect the fitment differently... depending on whether I go with a 17 or 18 inch front wheel, what are my limitations for offset there? Im not trying to do more than a fender roll, but its still gotta look good.

Any input would be appreciated.

It all really depends on how low the car will be. 18x9.5 with an offset around 20-25 should fit fine with some -2 camber with a conservative drop. 18x9.5 is a lot of wheel for an S14 without a lot of engine/cosmetic modifications. I run a 17x9 +22 and they fit great with 255's with side skirts and stock body. I'm not hellaflush status but I like functionality over look. Whatever you do, don't goto Zilvia and ask the same question you just asked here!!!

Yeah, I know about zilvia. Any opportunity they get to flame someone, ITS ON. **** zilvia. Sometimes I just need to ask a genuine question to another human being... I can only search for so long.

Why do you say 18x9.5 is a lot of wheel for an s14 without engine or cosmetic mods? I plan on going KA-t as soon as possible (maybe even before the wheels and suspension), but i wouldnt see a problem rolling around with big ass wheels with a stock ka? I mean, sure, the car will be slower, but c'mon. Its a stock KA. I got walked by an automatic 1990 integra.

Anyway, as far as a drop, I want to keep the car as high as possible without it looking stupid. If that gives you any idea. Its a daily, and I want to retain daily-like ride quality, but I know that I'm gonna have to go a bit lower to keep it from looking like a 4x4. I just want everything to clear without having to run a super small tire or pulling the **** out of my fenders.

Some guy just actually posted those rims in 18x9.5 with 285s in rear. It looked floaty.. stock body s14. I'll see if I can find the link.. He didn't post offsets though..

My buddy has 255s I think on stock body it looks odd cause it sticks out and rear bumper just make you see tire.

No way a ka would loose to a stock integra unless it was a gsr. Should of walked it torque ka puts out
Also I'm running a mild stretch a little less when tires need replacing.

AMEN. Searching on that site is frustrating on a good day...although their implementation of Google search has helped tremendously.

I haven't logged on there in forever. That site angers me. I really need to though, to get some brackets sold...I just hate getting 800 questions on how to copy my setup, but without using any of the parts I did lol.

It's hard to say...it is a big wheel...with the proper tire it may look a bit out of place on some cars. I run 18x8.5 350z Track Rays with 255's and love them...they fit, are light, and don't look half bad.

That's how I am. I'm not some pseudo drifter, so I keep it normal for the streets.

If you have a fender roller that does it properly, I would say get the +12, but if you want to keep it stock body, do something in the +2X range.

I dont usually like 18s, but on an S14, they work. 18x9.5 +12 looks like this all around - your gonna have to roll it a bit

The problem with running such a large tire, is that you undoubtedly are going to limit the tire size you want to run or if you do manage to fit the tire, you'll negate any advantage of the bigger tire/wheel due to increased camber

a +12 on a 9.5 wheel isn't going to allow much meat in the back. If the O/P just wants the look, who cares...but if they want to find any sort of traction running a smaller wheel with a larger tire...with less camber is the ticket

I love proper 18's on s14's

...but maybe I'm bias ;)
