Made a little more progress in the bay this weekend. One step closer to painting it. All the patch panels are made and welded in place. The driver side shock tower and wheel well seams are fully welded and the passerger side still needs to get done and grinded down. Here is whats done so far.

When I had the harness out of the bay for all the fab, I re-covered the whole thing and eliminated all the plastic pieces in order to tuck it better.

The subframe and mounts should be here tomorrow so sometime this week the engine/trans can be mocked into place and take care of trans clearance, and any other clearance issues. Then removed again to paint the bay.

sweet, first i'm seeing of this.
i dont know how you feel about this but what do you think about test fitting everything before paint so you know its good to go, and also so you can shave/delete any holes and other crap thats unnecessary? you have the means to do the modification, and now is the time, just a thought

Yeah I prob just wrote it wierd but thats what Im doing. Before anything even gets primed for paint we are putting the engine and trans in place to take car of anything. And yeah I forgot to mention that all the little random factory holes in the bay are already filled and grinded down.

i just wish i filled the extra bolt holes and smoothed things out. also filled the big holes leading to the fenders since i dont use them, and other than that if i had mocked it all up before paint i could have welded some tabs in places to mount power steering and coolant overflow reservoirs, but now i have to work around whats already there and try not to mess up the paint in the process, haha.
i'd just try to lay out the entire bay before painting so you dont have to make any changes after its too late. good luck with it...

I was coming in looking for some updates... let us know whats going on with things this week . If you need a hand with anything let me know, I want an excuse to come check things out anyway.
When the car goes out for paint and the garage is empty, can I borrow that lift one day? Want to check a potential leak on the Subie and also check my front suspension, I think somethings loose up there.

yeah no prob, the lift should be wired in on saturday so we gonna assemble the engine and test fit it. Then prep the bay for paint and fit the front end. Then send it off to paint. It sounds like 3 steps but it will end up taking weeks haha

The engine then came apart. To install the cam, heads, oil pump etc. I took the heads out of the box and found that they have no valve seals. I was told they were complete minus the springs and ready to put on the car. No valve stems, and the valves werent lapped at all. So im gonna call Texas speed on monday and bitch.

And what it looked like when we were done. Im running out of room haha.

Today I need to get some supplies and misc stuff before we can continue.
