RockNRace's turbo volvo wagon: SOLD
1973 Volvo P1800es 2dr wagon 2.0L 4cyl 4speed with push button electric over drive attached some pictures, the car is from las vegas and has minimal rust, i bought it from there because the ones here simply fell apart. plans are to get on the road restore it over the winter and drive it daily from spring to fall, also may be considering swapping either some sort of volvo turbo motor, v8 ford or just maybe an sr20 or rb25 depending on funds ect.... hope you guys find this project neat, should be here in 2 weeks or so Last edited by rocknrace03; 05-26-2012 at 08:26 AM. |

These things look like a mutated AMC Gremlin. I dig em. Keep the stock engine, putting a Nissan engine in this would just take away from its classic appeal.

I have always loved the front half of these cars but the back always kills me lol. Cool pick up, love seeing members posting up their classics.

yeah i like the coupes alot but the wagons are one of the only few years that come with fuel injection, my dads was a 66 coupe, it looked like some sort of james bond car, maybe this should be called project jamie bond: operation soccer mom

There used to be one over in Breinigsville on a back road that I would see that was a coupe it's the only coupe I've seen in person and it was sick. Is there an advantage to the fuel injection?

That's cool I was just curious. I'm partial to carbs just because it's usually less complicated and more reliable but I come from the aircooled vw and antique bike world so they are a different beast all together. In the old bugs it's popular to rip out the fi systems lol.

This thing is awesome, in that whole socially awkward, you'll probably pull an excessive amount of females in this vehicle sort of way.
I'm excited for the end product.

thanks guys, im excited for it to be here, its stressful having something you paid for not in your possession for a few days, but i have faith itll be here safe and sound. im contemplating dropping a v8 ford 302 engine with a t5 trans, one of the other guys at my work has the engine all apart out an old fox body that had 20k on it, he said 100$ takes it, its efi but id probably just throw a carburetor on it. im just not too sure if i want to jump into something like that and or devaulue the car. but although im going to restore it right, it doesnt mean that ill be taking the body off the chassis. i simply want it rust free and of good running condition. throw some new shocks and brakes on it and a real nice paint job.
so opinions keep it classic with the inline 4 or "stop being a wussy and throw that v8 in already!" |

Awesome find!
I4 or I6 with ITBs. Trumpets out of the the hood...ok that may be a little much, but seriously ditch the intake manifold and run ITBs.

well the car finally left vegas as of yesterday and will be here this coming wednesday! the original owner called to let me know that the truck driver let the car roll into the back of the cab when he loaded it so now i have to figure out how to get some money back, i understand that im restoring the car and it only creates a few extra hours of work, but its still not right, im going to see what i have to do, when i spend 1200$ on shipping i assume the car will be here safely and well so far it already has 3 creases in it that it didnt have before.... in an otherwise almost perfectly straight body..... enough of a rant at this point i just want the car here so i can begin working on it =]
