I picked up the hood and trunk today.

Trunk on and fitted.

Finished hood. The NACA ducts were removed and we "evil eyed" it.

And the lighting in the garage sucks for pics, but here they are. The fitment is final, but the hood latch isnt on yet.

Looking threw the mesh on the hood and all you see is the Harrop. I LOVE it. I cant wait to get the car back on the ground, cleaned up, and actually get some proper pics.

To each their own but I'm not feeling your hood choice, and why is that hood/fender gap so huge?

Because of the awesome quality of a ViS hood. The gap is even on both sides. Honestly the only reason i picked this hood is because of this:

How yesterday started. Less than 12 hours after "completion", it is on the alignment rack.

Front camber is set to -1.5 up front and even though i have 1* camber shims in the rear my camber is -.8(L) and -1.8(R). I'll just order up either another 1* shim or a 2* shim and toss it on the left side.

After wasting a few hours and washing the car, i just had to have it see it's "twin" again.

After that it was tuning time. For some reason it takes 7-8 minutes to flash my PCM, so we passed the time by taking a few pics.

And the money shot.

I owe a big thanks to Matt(Evilution) for all of the body work, Mark@OEM/Snowman for the "Custom F-body" rear disc conversion, and to Ryan(Oldskool) for being crazy enough to willingly tune this pig.

The review so far:
-The car GRIPS. It is soo much better than last year. I swear on the one corner on the highway while we were "collecting tuning data" the car just found even more grip then it had at the beginning of the corner.
-The racetronix pump is amazing. We went from having to lean the car out to 12:1 in the higher rpms to maintain a 85% duty cycle with the M62 with a 2.9 to having to pull ALOT of fuel(it was 9:1 in some spots) from the old tune with the Harrop with the 3.3" on it. We ended the day with ~75% duty cycle on the same exact injectors. We have the room for the stock 3.15" pulley.
-The Harrop. OMG. I jumped up to 15-16psi(TVS/3.3") from 12-13psi(M62/2.9"). IATs went down. Ryan will have to chime in on exact numbers, but i dont recall seeing anything over 160* and it recovered down to ~120* very quickly. We ended the day with ~16* advance and no knock. We can easily get more out of it by playing with timing.

Before we try to get more power out of it i want to get it on a dyno to see where the power is at. I want to keep the power under 300whp for now.

The car isnt completely done. Matt is still working on a few more C/F items and i have a bunch of little things to pick away at.

No dyno numbers yet. Im hoping to make it to Sloppy Mechanic's fall dyno day. But i did hit up Island last week.

I strongly believe the car has low 13s in it. This was only my 2nd time ever to a drag strip(driver mod needed badly), no launch, -1.5* camber, and on handling tires.

Since the last update the only "mods" have been a custom license plate and i installed the lock cylinder in the trunk.

The car needs to be clay barred badly and i still havent picked up my other C/F items. Yes, the front grill piece is one of those items.

But here are a few driveway shots.
The daily and the toy.

The Silverado is my Pa's.

I had some trouble last fall with a hidden vacuum line that broke and a dying battery, but i got both of those fixed. Also over the winter i got the rest of my carbon fiber pieces back. Toyota Cavalier mirrors with the sails wrapped in carbon, front grill piece shaved and wrapped in carbon, and lastly a set of exterior B-pillar cover wrapped in carbon.

And the money shot.

Still need to work on the tune alittle, but i drove it around for atleast 3 hours today without any issues.

I do plan on having the car at Carlisle P&S. I'll be parked with the rest of the NEPASS crew.

Some new pics.

And my favorite. I only re-sized and cropped it.

I picked this up a few months ago to replace my current one. It is a basket case, but i just wanted it for the chassis(which is just about the only thing that is good on it). It'll get a new engine, trans, interior, top, converted to the 03-05 body, suspension, etc. Fast show car is my goal for it. My 03 will be donating parts to it once it is ready for them. But that'll be 2 years or so from now.

I finally tossed in some new seats in the spring. Cloth Corbeau A4 Wides.

Then last week I ripped out the old junk Innovate LC-1 and replaced it with a AEM UEGO. Turns out that while we thought the car was tuned to 11.7 AFRs, it was actually more like 9.5 because of the bad wideband.
This is all of the wiring I pulled from the car when I removed the LC-1.

Interior with new AEM installed.

I like the AEM ALOT better. I tried to "mechanically" lean the car out by swapping to a smaller supercharger pulley.

That lead to a belt slip issue and spark blowout. Once I fixed those things I was still seeing 10.0 AFRs on the AEM so we pulled some fuel and added some timing with HP Tuners. We left the car a bit on the rich side and didn't crazy with timing, all in an effort to keep the stock engine in one piece. The pulley drop and fixing the tune woke the car up.

I am still slowly adding parts to pile for the built engine. Eagle rods, Wiseco 10:1cr pistons, and +1mm Ferrea valves are the newest additions.

The car made 244whp at Sloppy Mechanics fall dyno day. My tuner datalogged the pulls and there was quite a bit of knock. I want to lean it out alittle more this spring and see if that clears up the knock(didn't knock at all when we tuned it). No knock I would guesstimate the power to be in the 250-260whp range. I am sure that will how long I have had this engine boosted and how hard that I have been on it, that the valves and piston rings are probably not sealing the best. But that is ok. I am finishing up ordered the last few parts I need for the other engine so I can get it built. I am hoping to have it done and swapped in by Carlisle P&S this year. The trans going to be a stock F23 Getrag with a OBX LSD and M-Tech short shifter.

I tore my spare engine apart over the weekend and got the block ready to drop off at the engine builder this weekend.

The planned specs:
Ductile iron sleeves
Eagle forged L61 crank
Eagle forged L61 rods
Wiseco forged 10:1cr L61 pistons
Balance shaft delete
GMPP hardned oil pump gears

We'll I failed to meet my deadline, but I did just pick up my short block from the builder.

Hopefully in about a month or 2 I will get the head sent out to be ported.

I ended up buying a ported/built LSJ(Supercharged Cobalt) head and had a local machine shop freshen it up and install larger valves with new springs. I just got the head back today and ended up getting the new engine halfway assembled.

Engine specs:
Gen 1 L61 block
10:1 Weisco pistons
Eagle rods/crank
Powerbore sleeves
GMPP hardened oil pump gears

Ported LSJ head
Ferrera +1mm over sized valves(intake and exhaust)
Supertech 78lb springs
ZZP "Stage 2" LSJ blower cams
Adjustable cam gears

Ported LSJ intake manifold
Direct port water/meth
RD Fabs 2" primary header w/ 3" exhaust
HTV1320-LSJ blower with probably a 2.6" pulley

The goal is 400+whp. Which is a tough goal because the Ecotec cylinder head design is junk. A M62 supercharged Cavalier or Cobalt will make ~100whp less than an 8th gen Civic with a M62 and similar mods.
