Volvo what, just thought I'd share. :)

I skim alot but don't have a whole lot to say half the time as my knowledge is with the Swedish sleds but I thought I'd share these pictures of something different than the everyday tuner car. Not saying there's anything wrong with anything anyone is into, don't get me wrong.

A true enthusiast respects all modified cars, there's always a few things in common IMO with any model that anyone tinkers with....

Money, Time, Patience.

That's how I like to think about it at least.

Aside from the rusty stuff, insane tire stretch and lowerness that cracks oil pans I pretty much respect all modified cars.

Oh and cut springs, they are obvious and tend to make me giggle as well.

Onto the pictures......

Here's 2 upskirt shots......

I do alot of RT. 30 traveling from Lancaster to New Oxford 5 nights a week for work so if anyone sees me give a honk! If I'm paying attention I'll shoot one back. Normally I have A/C blasting and music up not paying attention.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I really tried to stay with an original look. I don't even have HID's!!! How original am I?!

I've done so much crap to that thing but I'll simplify the list a little....

Go fast......TD04HL-16T (stock is a 13G), 3 in. dp > 3 in. high flow cat > TME catback (straight through rear muffler, resonator is straight piped), IPD short ram, there is an MSD coil and 8mm silicone plug wires as well but they probably aren't too much to talk about.........silicone everything as you can see and T Bolts on the turbo plumbing, SpeedTuningUSA 12 psi ECU remap

For monitoring I use all VDO gauges....

mechanical vacuum/boost
EGT
Volts - plan is to slap a wideband in place of that eventually, I ran into a charging system issue a while back and as a result have about $700 invested in a completely brand new Volvo charging system

So yeah, don't think I need a voltmeter any longer.

Suspension........Bilstein TC struts and shocks, H&R springs, IPD strut brace, new Genuine Volvo:

rear shock mounts
front lower control arms
outer tie rods
endlinks
spring seats
strut mount/bearing plates

Exterior...........V70R front bumper & lower grills, XC70 eggcrate grill, 2003/04 C70 Jewel headlights/corner lights, added Genuine Volvo fog lights, amber sidemarkers, debadged lid

Brakes...........ebay cheapo D/S rear rotors and ceramic pads, ATE Premium One 12 in. 302mm slotted front rotors, new 12 in. brackets/caliper hardware, Mintex front pads

Stock came with 11 in. front rotors, I just did this about a week ago...

I'm adding SS lines and rebuilt front calipers here shortly as well.

I've toyed with the interior some as well but nothing crazy....just make it look pretty type of things and upgraded the audio system with Volvo components such as a changer, amp and antenna switch. Most of these older ones have 8 speaker setups which were manufactured by Alpine IIRC.

I'm not even going to start with the maint. that I've personally done to it over the past 2 years, I will tell you though that under the hood the engine, trans, all internals and a few electrical sensors are the only things that I haven't replaced.

I'm at 167K miles and I did have it repainted last year.

That's about it in a nutshell.

Yep, sure are! This one is a GLT which means LPT, low pressure turbo and has a 2.4L. The HPT is a 2.3.

Mine's compression is a bit higher and in turn nets more torque, they say the LPT's run out of steam up top but I've never really noticed this.

Just some timing retard I asked to have incorporated with my tune a while back to play things safe.....

Snatch one up! They go relatively cheap, 94 to 98 is the best years for the FWD turbo models.

They're expensive to play with but are so easy to work on.

Haha, yeah....not too many people care for the automatics. I look at it like this, I wanted a car that is aimed toward comfort and luxury. I, personally do not want to shift. I've had plenty of 5/6 speeds and shifting just makes me grow tired of a car after a while.

Regardless of what most Volvo owners say, the automatic trans. is a very solid and reliable unit. All you have to do is keep clean fluid in it.

I do not, honestly I've never really even checked out TB.

Thanks! Nice Saab, how expensive are they to maintain? I really like Saabs, old school 900's with those lip kits or w/e they are, mm mmmm. :D

I was hoping the PC on the wheels would've came out a bit more toward like a Gray, more like Volvo's gray color they used on the other areas of my car.

Apparently PC's deceiving, the color I chose looks different than how they came out. I appreciate it none the less.

I'll put some up of the interior, I'm still rockin' a torn up lower driver's seat though.

It's been that way for 2 years, I can't believe I haven't fixed it yet. Neither can friends/family, soon, very soon.

Thanks! Like I said, you can easily snatch one for not a lot of money. :D

In these next couple pictures here are the things that I've personally added/changed:

The entire Dark Walnut trim set
Chrome glove box door handle
"map pocket" under the glove box
power/heated passenger seat (old was ripped up and manual, car was prewired :D)
floormats
a few door panels
tan leather steering wheel
auto/ebrake boots (had an upholstery shop duplicate the factory ones)

There's probably more but for the most part that's it. I really need to have my driver's seat fixed.

For us 98 - 00 Volvo guys to put in the wood trim the following picture says what has to be done to access the mounting points for it. TOTAL PITA! Especially after getting off work in the morning.

The next 3 are how the interior sits right now.

Factory amp added...

Changer added.......

****ty picture but I wanted the gauges to appear very close to stock at night, hence the green bulb covers.......they are a bit darker than the rest of my lighting but overall came out pretty close....

Cool, there are a few in different areas. We play on Volvospeed for the most part, I've met a fair share of people at different get togethers, etc. as well.

They sure do pretty well for what they are and have potential. Don't get me wrong though, they sure aren't the quickest cars out there. And the cost vs. hp ratio is ridiculous.
