awd/rwd cars...

So I have about 11k to spend and was looking at a b6 a4, or an e36 m3. Not too sure bout the reliability of the audi, and also on the bmw. What I'm looking for is a awd or rwd car, that is fun...what do you guys think be some other good choices, or anyone have experinces with a4's or the m3

rsx is a good reliable quick car with a good aftermarket following. check out clubrsx.com for some info.

i'd stay away from german cars, their nothing but trouble, super expensive to fix, and expensive to mod

I am obviously bias but for 11k you could get a nice low mileage IS300...rwd, lots of creature comforts, pretty sharp looking, easy to maintain/work on(IMO), and a decent aftermarket parts selection. But at the end of the day its all about what your looking for and what your into...Good luck

e36 m3 is the way to go but if you have no other means of transportation it might be a bad idea. If you want an audi you should be looking at the b5 s4. An a4 is nothing compared to an m3.

friends don't let friends drive FWD, keep that in mind

Ok....no. stop there. this thread title made me think u were legit. but an RSX??? ur balls just climbed back up into ur body bro. RSXs are glorified civics, idk what everyone sees in them, but I have yet to come across any impressive ones that werent JDM type Rs. which we dont have here.

so i'll give u a similar list to what i gave the other kid today.
Look for a 300zx tt (z32), and e36 m3, a bugeye wrx, a 3000gt vr4 or stealth rt turbo, any lexus 300 and do the supra swap. a built/ swapped 240 SX. maybe a 350Z. Mustang gt. Camaro ss. Maybe even a gto. there's alotta great stuff out there it depends on what u think u can handle. but dont come in on the right track and then pussy out and get a fail wheel drive ricer. FWD is simply inferior in every way to both awd and rwd when it comes to performance. its only good for packaging and cost efficiency for the automakers, and its good for mpg. but if ur an enthusiast, then those all come second to the cars performance.

figure out what u really want though. cuz performance cars are needy bitches and u gotta be willing to deal with them. but its all worth it of u are.

Of your two choices the BMW for sure. A4s are nothing great and are horrible from a reliability standpoint. It is also very pedestrian compared to the M3.

I'd say MK2 MR2.

I vote m3 or ap1 s2k. You could loan some money and get a c5 vette. There are probably alot of options out there, just start looking around.

i think more info is necessary before i give any suggestions (tons of good ones given already)

is this going to be a DD?
do you need to drive it all year round?
is gas mileage an issue?

or are you just looking for a sports car to drive but not necessarily every day?

hah i rly wanted to get away from fwd and hondas. Love my teg but want something way funer, more potential. Id like the car to have atleast a decent interior, idk bout the 300zx interiors rly, nvr been in one. Dont want a two seater so mr2 and s2k are out of question, and the is300 are autos rite? defenetely want a manual..maybe a S14 240 maybe the way to go for now, idk..maybe even an sc300 but dont they also come in auto only?

edit:
yes DD, yea year round but i can deal with rwd in winter, and gas milage is not an issuse so much, as long as it doesnt get like 8mpg constantly

very true. i would look for an IS though. With your budget, you'll be looking at a newer SC. They get VERY hard to find in a 5spd. an older one (92-96) would be easier to find, but there is obvioulsy a premium for the manual tranny. Also, don't expect to find them in a 5spd below 100k for very cheap.
