Boostedfury's 99 Corvette 1/6/14 Cam & Headers Installed, Tune next!

Well as some of you know a C5 Corvette has always been a dream car of mine. Recently I sold my 2005 SRT 4, and the whole month and a half prior I had been on the search for my dream ride. I went on Monday with a buddy to take a look at it in NJ, and fell in love instantly with the color. It is called Pewter Metallic and it is a mix of Silver and light tan, and really pops and is not one of the typical vette colors people are accustomned to.

So Tuesday 5/8, my 25th Bday, things fell into place and I was able to make the trek 2 hrs back to get the car with my fiancee. It has been nothing short of spectacular! It even came with some mods already, most of which will be switched out for a better product over time as I save up.

Here's some specs:

1999 Corvette LS1 Pewter Metallic with 74k on the clock
6 Speed Manual Gear Box
Z51 Suspension Package: (Beefier Sways, Stiffer Shocks and Springs, PS Cooler)
Dual Zone Climate Control
12 Disc CD Changer
Memory Seat/ Mirrors
Black Leather Interior
Blue Tinted Glass Targa Roof

Mods to Date:

SLP Powerflo Catback
Bassani X Pipe
B&M Short Throw Shifter
C6 Oem Shift Knob
Dual Cone Intake
Drilled and Slotted Rotors
AMW Catch Can
160 Degree Tstat

Tuned to 327hp to the wheels as it sits currently. Already got rid of the horrible chrome headlights and replaced them with the stock ones with freshly painted covers, and also replaced the broken gear with a brass one. Also recharged the AC as well.

The best part, I picked it up for less than I sold my SRT for!!! Total Win!

Enough of me typing let's get to the car!!! Only had time to snap from the phone obviously better pics to come!!

The car needs to be inspected and the AC recharged. Last thing is the Oil Sending Unit ($30 part) is shot which is a common failure over time which I will probably fix myself with a friend!

Hey buddy. Not sure if I'm really to keen on the wheels, but maybe I just have to see them in person. Nice color though.

Does it fit in the garage?

I was thinking the same thing. They are too big and not a fan of the style.

I'm 50/50 on the headlights. One day I like the Depo headlights the next I don't. I'll probally snag a set for mine in the near future though(I'll bake it and have them painted body matched).

Kinda miss not having a targa myself.

what's going to be funny is your neighbors thinking you're made of money now that you've got a vette.

enjoy it! i'll have to swing by sometime to check it out... i'm always up for a little driving, now lol

and the targa top is the best thing in the world... i love being able to take it off and feel like i'm in a convertible.

Where to begin haha first off thanks everyone! Rob indeed it fits in the garage! As far as the headlights I will be taking them off first chance I have to work on the car! Jason pm me I can get you a great price if you do want them. I have the original depo box for them too!

Wheels are BIG lol! The style is fine but I would prefer a 17/18 combo or 18/19 combo, but at this point I will roll with them for a year as I decide what direction I want to go.

Haven't had a chance to take the targa off but I'm super stoked to do
that manyyyy times!

nice pick up, I had 18s all the way around on my 99 vet, lowered on bolts and I thought it sat perfect, not too low but wasn't too high either.

the oil pressure senders are okay, but often broken when the intake manifold is removed. Do you have a photo of the engibe bay? Perhaps the intake manifold was swapped to LS6?

AC compressors are a little hoaky, but you can have it rebuild much cheaper than replacing, if its more than a simple recharge. Also the PCV system on LS1 suck. You should look into a catch can, I sugguest this.

oh and the "skip shift" is a kill joy on these cars, it can be tuned off or bypassed with kit's Shifting 1st to third is a bore, and is something that you may consider a must.
