Sorry to hear what your dad is going through man. I know its tough on the family, especially the "waiting game."

I'll keep you, and your father in my (no homo) thoughts today.

I know what you mean. I almost lost my father 2x, to cancer. Your friends and family will be each others biggest support.

Heh, my dad found out about needing open heart surgery at Paoli, as well. He had an aortic aneurysm and needed a valve replacement, too. He ended up going to Penn for the surgery, but Paoli is a really great hospital.

Just remember that these heart surgeries have been so fine tuned, and hospitals are really doing wonderful things and are able to get patients to recover quickly! It always made me feel better knowing that heart surgeries are now so successful and normal procedures. Just hang in there a few more hours. My dad said the best feeling was waking up to his family being there, and I'll bet your dad is so happy you're there for him now.

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers! Keep us posted.

Blessings be my man.

My dad had a heart attack last October and its absolutely petrifying (no matter what the relationship is like) to not know or have control over a situation.

i hope all goes well. these surgeries have become really routine and the doctor's will keep good care of your father. try to stay calm surgery goes long, it does not mean things are not going well. its just some dr's go faster or slower than others.

keep close to him after the surgery. he will need help doing some really basic stuff after the first few days. my poppa went through it twice and recovered. just try to stay calm and be close after the surgery is over.

I feel ya dude. Thankfuly this was one of those rare occasions that it was caught before it could become a heart attack. He has had at least 2 of the blockages for the past 10 years. And ion those 10 years he has gone through a divorce custody hearings Me speedking tickets blah blah blah. Hes a tough old bird. Im just really worried.

God bless man. Im sure he'll be fine. just be strong and be there for him. My dad had a major operation on his colin a few years back and it saved his life. I know its difficult to see u father in that sort of state tho, kinda struck me just now as i was writing this. But remember once it is done he will be much better
